  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Totals 17 yards in loss

Kamara totaled six carries for 14 yards and caught one of three targets for three yards during Sunday's 34-10 defeat to the Rams. Kamara was completely stonewalled and had a season low in yards while also tying his season low for carries in a game. Instead, Taysom Hill led the team with 30 rushing yards on four carries. The ninth-year running back also fumbled on his final carry of the game in the fourth quarter. Kamara didn't see an uptick in usage even with rookie quarterback Tyler Shough making his first career start, as the Rams dominated the Saints in time of possession 43:53-16:07. Over the last five games, Kamara has now averaged 8.2 carries for 24.2 yards. He also hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 1. Kamara's production is well below his reputation as a bell-cow back in fantasy, and his lack of explosiveness and limited production will likely continue to limit his output going forward. The Saints next face off with the Panthers in Week 10 on Sunday.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: RBs to Sit

Kamara had another down game in Week 8 against Tampa Bay with six carries for 21 yards and two catches for 24 yards on two targets. He's now scored 9.5 PPR points or less in three of his past four games, and he hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 1. The Rams are No. 2 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and they are the only team yet to allow a rushing touchdown to a running back this season. Kamara is a flex option at best in the majority of leagues.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Limited in practice

Kamara (ankle) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. It's an improvement from last week when Kamara also was listed with an ankle injury and started off as a non-participant. He ended up being cleared to play on the Friday injury report and went on to handle a season-high 84 percent snap share when fellow running back Kendre Miller suffered an ACL tear in the first half. It is possible rookie Devin Neal will have more of a role this Sunday against Tampa Bay with more time to prepare for the No. 2 RB job.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Cleared to face Bears

Kamara (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Chicago, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. Kamara even progressed to full practice participation Friday, setting him up for this usual workload come Sunday, although Kendre Miller has gotten more involved in recent weeks for reasons seemingly unrelated to Kamara's health. The 30-year-old RB took 62 percent of snaps in last week's loss to New England, with 15 touches for 76 total yards.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Officially limited Thursday

Kamara (ankle) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Coach Kellen Moore described Kamara's absence from Wednesday's session as a maintenance plan as Kamara deals with the ankle injury that he sustained Week 5 against the Giants, according to Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com. Now that he's mixed back into some drills, Kamara is trending in the right direction, but it remains to be seen if he'll be able to avoid a designation ahead of Sunday's game at Chicago.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Present at practice Thursday

Kamara (ankle) is present for the early portion of Thursday's practice open to the media, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports. Kamara missed practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury, the same issue that he played through in Week 6 after having logged three consecutive limited practice sessions. Coach Kellen Moore has stated that the veteran running back will be on a maintenance plan to manage the injury. To see Kamara back on the field Thursday, even if he only logs limited reps, bodes well for his chances of taking the field for Sunday's road matchup against the Bears, but he'll likely carry an injury designation into the weekend unless he's able to resume practicing in full.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Kamara (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. Kamara was limited in practice all of last week due to an ankle issue but still suited up this past Sunday against the Patriots, handling 62 percent of the snaps and turning 15 touches into 76 yards from scrimmage in that contest. Coach Kellen Moore told Terrell that Kamara will be on a maintenance plan for the injury for the time being, and the fact that the running back was a DNP to begin Week 7 prep doesn't mean the concern got worse, as Moore relayed to Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football. Ultimately, Kamara may need to practice fully by Friday in order to enter the weekend without a designation for Sunday's game in Chicago.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Contrarian DFS Play

The Bears were better against the run coming out of the bye, but they're still giving up a league-worst 5.6 yards per carry to running backs this season. Kamara is sharing time with Kendre Miller, but has seen at least five targets in three straight games. Even with 15 touches, the Bears could make him look like Alvin Kamara once again.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Ready to go for Week 6

Kamara (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Patriots. A limited participant in practice throughout the week due to the ankle injury, Kamara took a questionable tag into the weekend but never seemed at major risk of missing Sunday's contest. Now that he's confirmed as available for the Week 6 contest, Kamara should continue in his usual role as the Saints' lead option out of the backfield. Though Kamara's name has popped up in trade rumors as the 1-4 Saints navigate what looks to be a rebuilding season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Saturday that the 30-year-old back told general manager Mickey Loomis that he would like to remain with the franchise for the duration of his career. The Saints are expected to honor Kamara's request and hold on to him ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline, even though multiple contending teams would likely be in the market for his services.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: In line to play Sunday

Kamara (ankle), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots, is expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Kamara told Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune that he injured his ankle in last Sunday's win over the Giants, which left him limited in practice Wednesday through Friday. Ultimately, Kamara's status for Sunday's contest will be confirmed about 90 minutes before a 1 p.m. ET kickoff, but even if he's active, there's a chance he cedes some snaps to his primary backup, Kendre Miller.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Seen at practice Thursday

Kamara (ankle) was present at practice Thursday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. The Saints had a scare at Wednesday's session when Kamara injured his ankle and went down as a limited participant. It's unclear if he maintained that activity level or upgraded to full, but Thursday's practice report will reveal that info. Kendre Miller is on hand in the event Kamara is at all inhibited Sunday against the Patriots.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Injures ankle at practice

Coach Kellen Moore said Kamara hurt his ankle in practice Wednesday, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Per Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, Kamara officially was limited Wednesday, and Moore added that it's a "little something." Kamara's status thus bears watching as the week goes on to get a sense of his odds to suit up Sunday against the Patriots. If Kamara is inhibited or sidelined this weekend, Kendre Miller would take on an expanded role in the Saints offense.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Held in check in Week 5

Kamara carried the ball eight times for 27 yards and caught four of six targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 26-14 win over the Giants. The 55 scrimmage yards were a season low for Kamara, and it's the third time in five games to begin the season that he's failed to reach 60. The veteran back is struggling to make an impact, as defenses haven't had much reason to fear the Saints' passing attack, but they could begin to loosen up for Kamara after QB Spencer Rattler hit Rashid Shaheed for an 87-yard TD in Sunday's win. Kamara will try to rebound in Week 6 against the Patriots.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Logs moderate outing Week 4

Kamara tallied 15 rushes for 70 yards and gathered in four of five targets for two yards during Sunday's 31-19 loss against the Bills. Kamara had his second-most productive rushing output of the season and averaged over 4.2 yards per carry for the second time this year. The 30-year-old had been shouldering the bulk of the rushing workload with 50 of the team's 79 carries over the first three games, but RB2 Kendre Miller closed the gap with a season-high 11 rushing attempts for 65 yards Sunday. This may have been part of the Saints' offensive gameplan, as the team logged more rushing attempts (34) than passing attempts (28) for the first time this season. Kamara will look to record his first 100-yard rushing performance of the season next week, facing a Giants defense that's allowed a league-worst 6.1 yards per carry through four weeks.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Stymied in blowout loss

Kamara rushed 18 times for 42 yards and caught one of two targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 44-13 loss to the Seahawks. Kamara was stifled by Seattle's defensive front from the get-go, resulting in the tailback's worst per-carry average (2.3 YPC) in a single game since Week 7 against the Broncos last season (1.4 YPC). It was surprising to see the 29-year-old used so sparsely as a receiver in such a lopsided loss; perhaps the 38-6 deficit at halftime sucked the competitiveness from New Orleans' sideline. Kamara remains the focal point of a struggling Saints offense despite posting his first dud through three weeks. Fantasy managers can expect heavy involvement from the dual-threat RB in a tough road matchup against Buffalo next Sunday.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Tops 100 scrimmage yards in loss

Kamara carried the ball 21 times for 99 yards and caught all six of his targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the 49ers. After needing a touchdown to salvage his Week 1 performance, Kamara topped 100 scrimmage yards for the first time in 2025 in Week 2. The veteran RB needed volume to get there though, as his longest run went for only 15 yards. Kamara remains the centerpiece of the Saints' offense under new head coach Kellen Moore, and he could have a big day through the air in Week 3 against a Seahawks defense that has given up 159 combined receiving yards to the Steelers' Jaylen Warren and the 49ers' Christian McCaffrey to begin the season.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Set for workhorse role again

Saints coach Kellen Moore said Wednesday that Kamara will take most of the team's carries, with other running backs ready to step up when there's a chance, Erin Summers of NFL Network reports. It's what fantasy managers want to hear four days before the season opener, even if there's nothing surprising or unexpected about Moore's quote. Kendre Miller won the No. 2 RB job this summer, but he didn't necessarily do enough to earn a big Week 1 role, more or less defaulting into his depth chart spot after rookie Devin Neal missed much of the summer with a hamstring injury. Miller and Neal could get more involved as the season progresses, but Kamara figures to take well over half of the snaps and touches this Sunday against San Francisco.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Won't play vs. Jacksonville

Kamara is no longer in uniform and is not in line to play in Sunday's preseason game against the Jaguars, Erin Summers of the Saints' official site reports. It's the second week in a row that Kamara was suited up for pregame warmups but did not participate in the team portion. With Kamara and Devin Neal (hamstring) sidelined, the Saints backfield will be led by Kendre Miller, Cam Akers and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Kamara's last chance to see preseason action will be Saturday against the Broncos.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Won't play Sunday

Saints coach Kellen Moore said Tuesday that Kamara will not suit up for Sunday's preseason opener against the Chargers, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Kamara has enjoyed a clean bill of health in training camp, but it's no surprise to see New Orleans take a cautious approach to his preseason participations. Moore said the rest of the team's running backs will suit up versus Los Angeles, so the preseason opener could shed some light on the pecking order behind Kamara. Rookie sixth-rounder Devin Neal (hamstring) seems likely to sit out, but Kendre Miller, Cam Akers and Clyde Edwards-Helaire could get chances to flash.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Back on the field

Kamara (groin) participated in Tuesday's minicamp practice. Kamara, who missed the last three games of the 2024 regular season with a groin injury, hadn't been participating in the Saints' voluntary workouts this offseason, but his activity during Tuesday's mandatory minicamp session demonstrates that he's moved past the issue. While there's no doubt that Kamara slots in as the team's No. 1 back, it remains to be seen how the rest of the backfield depth chart will shake out prior to Week 1. For now, the top candidates for complementary work behind Kamara (who recorded 228 carries and 68 catches in 14 contests last year) are Kendre Miller, Devin Neal and Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
