  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Sleeper RBs

Isiah Pacheco (knee) will miss his third game in a row in Week 12 against the Colts, and Hunt should be considered a low-end No. 2 Fantasy running back in all leagues. Hunt has scored at least 12.5 PPR points in all three games without Pacheco, thanks to scoring a touchdown in each outing against Washington, Buffalo, and Denver. This week, Hunt will face a Colts defense that is No. 10 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, but Indianapolis is without standout defensive lineman DeForest Buckner (neck). In one game without Buckner in Week 10 against Atlanta, Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier combined for 28 carries for 141 yards and two touchdowns, and the Colts have also allowed six rushing touchdowns to running backs in their past three games. I like Hunt's chances to find the end zone again in this game.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Remains team's RB1 for Week 12

Hunt is set to lead Kansas City's backfield Sunday against the Colts, as Isiah Pacheco (knee) has been ruled out. Pacheco will miss a third consecutive game Sunday. Hunt has turned 26 touches into 117 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns during the first two games of Pacheco's absence. Brashard Smith and Elijah Mitchell remain on hand in backup roles. Hunt has seven total touchdowns this season, including four in his last three games.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Extends TD streak in loss

Hunt carried the ball 13 times for 59 yards and a touchdown and caught one of two targets for three yards in Sunday's 22-19 loss to the Broncos. The veteran running back got into the end zone for a third straight game when he punched home a two-yard TD in the third quarter. Hunt's 62 scrimmage yards were also a season high, as he continues to need those touchdowns to keep his fantasy relevance. Through 10 games, he's produced just 419 scrimmage yards but has seven totals TDs -- six on the ground and one through the air. Hunt will look to hit paydirt again in Week 12 against the Colts.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Sleeper RBs

Isiah Pacheco (knee) is out for Week 11 at Denver, which should keep Hunt in a prominent role for the Chiefs. In Week 9 at Buffalo, with Pacheco out, Hunt had 11 carries for 49 yards and a touchdown and one catch for 6 yards on two targets. He has now scored at least 12.5 PPR points in three of his past five games, and he's worth using as a flex option against the Broncos. Even though Denver is No. 5 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, three guys have scored at least 15.3 PPR points against the Broncos in their past four games, with five total touchdowns over that span.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Retaining lead role Week 11

Hunt is poised to lead Kansas City's backfield Sunday against the Broncos, as Isiah Pacheco (knee) has been ruled out. Pacheco will miss a second consecutive game sandwiched around Kansas City's Week 10 bye. In Pacheco's absence, Hunt recorded 55 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 12 touches Week 9 against the Bills. Brashard Smith will be available in a change-of-pace role but recorded only three carries in Buffalo.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

It doesn't appear like Isiah Pacheco (knee) will play in Week 11 at Denver, which should keep Hunt in a prominent role for the Chiefs.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Sleeper RBs

Isiah Pacheco (knee) is out for the Chiefs in Week 9 at Buffalo, meaning Hunt and Brashard Smith will share touches against the Bills. I like Hunt as a low-end starter in all leagues, and Smith is a flex. Buffalo is No. 6 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and seven running backs have scored at least 10.8 PPR points against the Bills this season. Hunt has scored at least 11.4 PPR points in three of his past six games while sharing work with Pacheco, and Smith has scored at least 5.1 PPR points in four of his past five games prior to Week 9.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Scores with 55 yards Sunday

Hunt rushed 11 times for 49 yards and a touchdown while catching one of two targets for six yards in Sunday's 28-21 loss to the Bills. Isiah Pacheco (knee) was unable to suit up after absorbing a big hit last week, opening the door for Hunt to serve as the Chiefs' primary back against the Bills on Sunday. The 29-year-old Hunt was up to the task, leading his team in rushing yards while collecting his fifth rushing touchdown of the season. Brashard Smith (3-7-0) finished a distant second in backfield touches, as head coach Andy Reid opted to lean on Hunt more instead of continuing a two-back approach in Pacheco's absence. There is a chance the latter will return following the Chiefs' upcoming bye week, but Hunt has been providing enough value in a timeshare to warrant flex consideration against the Broncos in Week 11.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Increased workload on tap Sunday

Hunt is expected to experience a bump in snaps and touches Sunday at Buffalo with Isiah Pacheco (knee) unavailable for the contest, ESPN.com reports. Pacheco was diagnosed with an MCL sprain after he took a hit to the side of his right knee in the fourth quarter of Monday's 28-7 win against the Commanders. He'll miss at least one contest as a result of the injury, and Hunt is the next player up in the Chiefs backfield. Having said that, Hunt has maxed out at 13 carries in a given game this season, while his snap share has topped out at 44 percent. Rookie seventh-round pick Brashard Smith and possibly Elijah Mitchell are candidates to mix in if Kansas City continues to limit Hunt's workload.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

Isiah Pacheco (knee) is out for the Chiefs in Week 9 at Buffalo, meaning Hunt and Brashard Smith will share touches against the Bills. I like Hunt as a low-end starter in all leagues, and Smith is a flex. Buffalo is No. 6 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and seven running backs have scored at least 10.8 PPR points against the Bills this season. • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Likely taking lead role

Hunt is expected to get most of the carries Sunday at Buffalo in the absence of teammate Isiah Pacheco (knee), ESPN's Nate Taylor reports. Brashard Smith will have a role, and Elijah Mitchell may even get some work, but Hunt figures to take many/most of the carries that had been going to Pacheco. Adding those on top of the work he already gets -- which includes short-yardage situations -- should put Hunt in a valuable role, projecting for double-digit touches and solid odds to score a touchdown. A huge yardage total is unlikely, but potential TDs offer a path to upside that makes Hunt a sold lineup option for Week 9.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Officially cleared for Week 8

Hunt (ankle/knee) does not carry an injury designation into Monday's game against the Commanders. Hunt didn't practice Thursday due to ankle and knee injuries, but he was able to log a full session Saturday to fade an injury tag heading into Monday night's contest. Hunt has logged 53 carries for 205 yards and three touchdowns while adding seven catches (on eight targets) for 55 yards through seven regular-season games.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Expected to play vs. Washington

Head coach Andy Reid said Saturday that Hunt (ankle/knee) is expected to play against the Commanders on Monday, Charles Goldman of AtoZSports.com reports. Hunt was back at practice Friday and Saturday after missing Thursday's session, and it appears the veteran running back will be available for Week 8 after working through ankle and knee injuries. Hunt and Isiah Pacheco will continue to serve as the Chiefs' one-two punch out of the backfield while rookie Brashard Smith provides depth.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Upgrades to limited Friday

Hunt (ankle/knee) was a limited participant at practice Friday. Hunt's now listed with an ankle injury in addition to a knee injury, but on a positive note, he practiced in some capacity Friday after being a non-participant Thursday. The Chiefs will post their final injury report Saturday for Monday's game against the Commanders. If Hunt's limited or unavailable, rookie Brashard Smith could take on a larger role alongside Isiah Pacheco.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Not practicing Thursday

Hunt (knee) won't practice Thursday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports. Per McMullen, Hunt is dealing with a bone bruise to his knee. The running back now has two more chances to practice in advance of Monday's game against the Commanders. If Hunt is limited or sidelined in Week 8, added snaps would be available for Isiah Pacheco and Brashard Smith, while Elijah Mitchell -- a healthy inactive in recent weeks -- could also rejoin the Chiefs' backfield mix.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Four carries in blowout win

Hunt rushed the ball four times for 18 yards in Sunday's 31-0 win over the Raiders. Hunt served strictly in a relief role to Isiah Pacheco for much of the first half, logging four carries to Pacheco's eight. Hunt also suffered an apparent leg or ankle injury on a touchdown by Rashee Rice midway through the first quarter. He was able to retake the field, but the Chiefs ultimately may have opted to lessen his workload as a precaution in the blowout game script.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Continues to play second fiddle

Hunt accrued six carries for 23 yards and caught his only target for 11 yards during Sunday's 30-17 win over the Lions. Hunt has seen his playing time drop off in the past couple of weeks, recording sub-40 percent snap shares after crossing that threshold, including double-digit carries, against both the Giants in Week 3 and Ravens in Week 4. He remains a handcuff option in leagues with a little bit of fantasy upside if he reaches paydirt. Still, he won't find consistent value as long as Isiah Pacheco is healthy and available.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Feasts around the goal line Monday

Hunt rushed seven times for 49 yards and two touchdowns while catching his only target for eight yards in Monday's 31-28 loss to Jacksonville. Three of Hunt's seven carries came from five yards or closer to the opponent's goal line, and he punched two of them in successfully to finish as the Chiefs' top fantasy RB in Week 5. Co-starter Isiah Pacheco also received seven carries while seeing two more targets as a receiver, but the latter's lack of use in the red zone proved to be the difference Monday. Hunt now is up to three touchdowns on the year, but he leaves much to be desired as a fantasy asset in games he is held out of the end zone. The 29-year-old checks in as a touchdown-dependent flex option against the Lions on Sunday Night Football in Week 6.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Week 4 Adds (RB Preview)

Hunt is still available in more than a third of CBS leagues and ranks the highest in a bad crop of Week 4 running back waiver wire options. Week 3 he set season highs with 10 rush attempts and 11.4 PPR Fantasy points. Also, Isiah Pacheco made a couple of mistakes in the passing game so it is possible we see Hunt's workload increase, as it has each of the first three weeks. Surprisingly, the Ravens have given up the second-most Fantasy points to running backs this season. Less surprisingly, they have seen the most running back targets.
... See More ... See Less
  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Gains 34 yards on nine touches

Hunt took eight carries for 31 yards and caught his only target for three yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Eagles. Hunt continued to split backfield work with Isiah Pacheco, seeing nine combined touches to the starter's 11 Sunday. The 30-year-old Hunt was more efficient with his workload, but neither back finished with a stat line to write home about. Hunt carries some deep-league value in his current shared role, but there isn't enough upside in the veteran to trust in standard formats when the Chiefs visit the Giants in Week 3.
