Johnson joined the active roster at the tail end of last season after spending time on the practice squad. He will now likely revert back to the Panthers' injured reserve after clearing waivers.

Texans' Dorian Johnson: Signs with Texans
Johnson signed a contract with the Texans on Wednesday, ArizonaSports.com reports.
Johnson was a fourth-round pick for the Cardinals in 2017, but he was relegated to the practice squad after being cut in training camp. Perhaps in recognition of the 6-foot-5, 300-pound guard's potential, the Texans decided to add him to their 53-man roster. He's expected to serve in a depth role in Houston.
