49ers' Demarcus Robinson: Out 3-to-6 weeks, could hit IR
San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Robinson is facing a recovery timeline of 3-to-6 weeks after sustaining a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's 35-13 win over the Dolphins, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Shanahan noted that Robinson will most likely be placed on injured reserve, though the 49ers haven't finalized any decisions since the team can bring back only eight players from IR and already has a lengthy injury list two games into the season. Robinson had been expected to serve as a depth receiver for the 49ers, but injuries to Ricky Pearsall (knee), De'Zhaun Stribling (ankle) and Christian Kirk (calf) had opened up more playing time for the 32-year-old than anticipated through the first two weeks of the season. He produced a 5-84-1 line on six targets between wins over Rams and Dolphins to begin the campaign.

49ers' Demarcus Robinson: Won't return vs. Miami
Robinson (ankle) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Robinson had to be carted off the field after sustaining a right ankle injury, so it's not surprising to see him ruled out for the second half. He'll finish Sunday's game with three catches on as many targets for 34 yards, including the 19-yard reception on which he sustained the injury. Jordan Watkins (coach's decision) is inactive, so without Robinson, the 49ers have four healthy wide receivers left in Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel, Jacob Cowing and KhaDarel Hodge.

49ers' Demarcus Robinson: Believed to have high-ankle sprain
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Robinson is believed to have suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Dolphins, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Robinson was injured in the second quarter and had to be carted to the locker room. He was already replacing De'Zhaun Stribling as the Niners' WR3 after Stribling suffered a serious ankle injury in Week 1 against the Rams that is expected to sideline the rookie receiver for 10 weeks. San Francisco will have to delve deeper into its wideout depth chart, with Jacob Cowing, Jordan Watkins and KhaDarel Hodge the only healthy bodies behind Mike Evans (hip) and Deebo Samuel.

Robinson (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Robinson sustained the injury while hauling in a 20-yard pass from Brock Purdy in the second quarter. Robinson's injury was severe enough for him to be carted off the field and into the locker room, where he will undergo further tests to determine whether he can return to Sunday's game. Jacob Cowing and KhaDarel Hodge will take on larger roles offensively for as long as Robinson is out of the game.

Robinson caught two passes (on three targets) for 50 yards and a touchdown during the 49ers' 27-7 win over the Rams in Week 1.
Robinson snuck past the Rams secondary midway through the second quarter to haul in a 39-yard touchdown pass from Brock Purdy and give the 49ers a 10-7 lead, with the former adding an 11-yard grab early in the third frame that led to a Mike Evans two-yard touchdown catch three plays later. Robinson played 41 of the 49ers' 65 snaps on offense (63.1 percent), which was second-most among San Francisco wideouts behind Evans (49) and ahead of Deebo Samuel (27). Robinson's extended snap count was largely due to rookie second-rounder De'Zhaun Stribling suffering an ankle injury in the first quarter, and the former could operate in an elevated role in Week 2 against the Dolphins on Sunday, Sept. 20 if Stribling is unable to play.

Robinson did not receive any targets in Thursday night's 41-17 preseason win over the Chargers.
Despite playing 25 percent of the 49ers' offensive snaps, Robinson did not see a target in the contest. The 31-year-old had some positive traction in camp, working with the first-team offense last week. While the wide receiver has earned a fair share of reps in preseason play, it has yet to pay off with box score production.

Ricky Pearsall will miss the entire 2026 season due to a PCL injury that requires surgery. Mike Evans (quad) and Christian Kirk (calf) have also been sidelined for training camp practices, and rookie second-rounder De'Zhaun Stribling missed a couple of sessions while tending to a hamstring issue. That's given Robinson the opportunity to work with the first-team offense, and a strong showing in training camp and preseason games could earn him a consistent role for the upcoming season. The veteran wideout is coming off a disappointing 2025 campaign, though he played a key role in the 49ers' NFC wild-card win over the Eagles in January, when he caught six catches (on seven targets) for 111 yards and a touchdown.

Robinson brought in his only target for one yard in Saturday's 41-6 divisional-round loss to the Seahawks.
Robinson was riding high from his best performance as a member of the 49ers in the wild-card round (6-111-1 versus the Eagles), but he came crashing back down to earth after gaining just one yard on his only touch against Seattle. The veteran wideout got off to a slow start with his new club after serving a three-game suspension to begin the year, and he would go on to post an underwhelming 22-276-1 receiving line across 14 games in the regular season. The 49ers were extremely thin at wide receiver in 2025, making Robinson's lack of involvement frustrating from a fantasy standpoint. The 32-year-old will be back with San Francisco next season for the final year of his two-year contract, likely serving as a depth piece for a retooled receiver room.

Robinson corralled six of seven targets for 111 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-19 wild-card win over Philadelphia.
Robinson finally broke out of his season-long slump at the perfect time for the 49ers after he led the team in receiving in its playoff win Sunday. The veteran wideout was filling in for injured starter Ricky Pearsall (ankle/knee), who was inactive for the ninth time this season. Robinson failed to surpass 50 receiving yards in any of his 14 appearances in the regular season, so Sunday's outburst against the Eagles certainly came out of nowhere. Perhaps this performance will build up the confidence QB Brock Purdy has in Robinson, but fantasy players should not bank on a repeat performance against the Seahawks in the divisional round.
