  • Panthers' Sam Martin: Back in action Monday

Martin (hamstring) was activated off the active/non-football injury list Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Martin returned to practice Monday after being sidelined with a hamstring injury for the first week of camp. The 35-year-old signed a one-year contract with Carolina in March after spending the last three seasons in Buffalo. He is expected to be the Panthers' starting punter once the regular season starts.

Martin (hamstring) was placed on the active/non-football injury list Monday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

  • Sam Martin: Gets released

Buffalo released Martin on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Martin has been the Bills' starting punter in every one of their games going back to the start of the 2022 season, but after discussions, the team and Martin have decided to move on from one another ahead of the final year of his contract. He's an unrestricted free agent, so he's free to make a deal with any bidder this offseason.

  • Bills' Sam Martin: Toughing it out

Martin (hamstring) returned to Monday's contest with the Steelers, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.

Martin suffered a hamstring injury in the first half, but he was back on the field to punt in the third quarter. Considering he's the only punter on the team's roster, it makes sense that he's ultimately attempting to tough it out.

  • Bills' Sam Martin: Injures hamstring

Martin is questionable to return to Monday's game against the Steelers due to a hamstring injury, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports.

Martin is the only punter on Buffalo's roster, so it is unclear what the team will do in a punting situation. There is no word on the severity of his hamstring injury at this time.
