Cowboys' Jonathan Bullard: Designated to return from IR
Bullard (calf) was designated to return from injured reserve by the Cowboys on Thursday.
Bullard had his 21-day practice window opened Thursday, and the defensive lineman logged a full practice, per Todd Archer of ESPN.com. The 33-year-old has been sidelined since suffering a calf injury in Week 3. It's unclear if Bullard will be good to go for Week 8, but he doesn't appear to be too far away from a return to action.

Cowboys' Jonathan Bullard: Lands on IR
The Cowboys placed Bullard (calf) on injured reserve Wednesday, Tommy Yarrish of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Bullard suffered a calf injury during the Cowboys' Week 3 loss to the Ravens. The injury is severe enough for him to require a stint on IR, which means he'll have to miss at least the next four games and is eligible to return for Week 8 against the Cardinals on Sunday, Nov. 1. Rookie fourth-rounder LT Overton could see a bump in rotational defensive snaps for as long as Bullard is on the shelf.

Cowboys' Jonathan Bullard: Set for extended absence
Bullard (calf) is expected to miss 3-to-4 weeks, Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Bullard was hurt during Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Ravens. He was originally deemed questionable to return and didn't end up re-entering the contest. With the veteran nose tackle now slated to miss multiple weeks, rookie LT Overton may be asked to step into a larger role.

Cowboys' Jonathan Bullard: Full practice participant Wednesday
Bullard (hamstring) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Bullard was limited to side work during most of training camp and did not play in any of the Cowboys' three preseason games while recovering from a hamstring injury in early August. The rehab work has evidently paid off, and the veteran nose tackle is on track to play in Sunday's regular-season opener against the Giants. Bullard appeared in 15 regular-season games for the Saints in 2025, finishing with 26 tackles (12 solo) and two pass defenses.

Cowboys' Jonathan Bullard: Remains with rehab group
Bullard (hamstring) worked with the rehab group Sunday, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Bullard has been working with the rehab group since developing hamstring soreness last Tuesday. The team does not seem to view the injury as a large concern and is letting the defensive end take his time to work through the issue. Bullard's absence has allowed other depth members of the Cowboys' defensive line to see increased reps, such as Tommy Dunn and Kelvin Gilliam.

Cowboys' Jonathan Bullard: Nursing hamstring soreness
Bullard worked off to the side in Tuesday's training camp due to hamstring soreness, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
The injury doesn't seem to be a long-term concern, though Bullard's practice participation leading up to the Cowboys' preseason opener against the Seahawks on Saturday, Aug. 15 is worth monitoring. He appeared in 15 regular-season games for the Saints in 2025, and finished with 26 tackles (12 solo) and two pass defenses. Bullard projects to operate in a rotational role at defensive end behind starters Kenny Clark and Quinnen Williams.

Cowboys' Jonathan Bullard: Lands with Dallas
Bullard signed a one-year deal worth a maximum of $2.5 million with the Cowboys on Saturday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Bullard spent the 2025 season in New Orleans while serving in a rotational role along the defensive line. He logged only 325 defensive snaps -- his lowest since 2022 -- and he may play in a similarly limited fashion in 2026, given the Cowboys' investment in their defensive line in the last two offseasons.

Saints' Jonathan Bullard: Signs with New Orleans
Bullard agreed to a deal with the Saints on Saturday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
The defensive end originally visited the team in June and previously played for Saints defensive coordinator Brandon Staley in Chicago, per Garafolo. With the Vikings last year, Bullard started all 17 regular-season games for the first time in his career, recording 41 tackles (21 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and three pass breakups. The veteran should have a chance to compete for a role in New Orleans as well.
