Hairston (undisclosed) has signed a reserve/future contract with the Cardinals, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Hairston was placed on the practice squad injury list on Dec. 28 with an undisclosed injury, but his reserve/future contract signing indicates the issue is not serious. He will now set his sights on making an impression with the club during the 2023 offseason.

Nate Hairston: Hits practice squad injured list
Hairston (undisclosed) was moved to the Cardinals' practice squad injured list Wednesday, Donnie Druin of SI.com reports.
Hairston had been elevated from the practice squad for each of Arizona's previous two contests, logging three defensive snaps and 17 special-teams snaps against Denver in Week 15 and playing all 17 of his snaps on special teams in Week 16. The nature of Hairston's issue is unclear, though he was seen heading to the locker room with an apparent injury during Arizona's Christmas Day loss to Tampa Bay.

Vikings' Nate Hairston: Clears physical examination
Hairston was removed from the Vikings' active/non-football injury list Monday.
Hairston made a relatively quick return from the active/NFI list after he was considered day-to-day while dealing with a banged-up lower ankle during last week's practices. The 2017 fifth-round pick landed with the fourth team of his NFL career when he signed a one-year contract with Minnesota in March, and he likely will need to carve out a role on special teams in order to make the squad's final 53-man roster.
