  • Robbie Chosen: Back with Washington

Chosen signed with the Commanders' practice squad Wednesday. Chosen was dropped from Washington's practice squad Monday, but it now appears the team had a change of heart. The 32-year-old played 33 offensive snaps in the Week 7 loss to the Cowboys, catching all four of his targets for 36 yards. Given his strong performance, he could be elevated to the Commanders' active roster later this season.

  • Robbie Chosen: Cut from Washington's PS

The Commanders cut Chosen from the practice squad Monday. Chosen was elevated to the Commanders' active roster for their Week 7 clash against the Cowboys, when he caught all four of his targets for 36 yards while playing 33 of 67 offensive snaps. However, his services are no longer needed as Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Deebo Samuel (heel) have both been cleared to return from their respective injuries and play in Monday's road game against the Chiefs. Given Chosen's play in Week 7, the veteran wide receiver should garner interest from teams looking for pass-catching depth on the active roster or practice squad.

  • Commanders' Robbie Chosen: Lands back on practice squad

Chosen reverted to the Commanders' practice squad Monday. Chosen got his first chance of the season to suit up in this past Sunday's 44-22 loss to Dallas and played 33 of 67 offensive snaps, placing him fourth among Commanders wideouts. He caught all four of his targets for 36 yards, with the reception total leading all Washington players. Chosen's opportunity came as a result of Washington's wideout corps being depleted by injuries -- each of Terry McLaurin (quadriceps), Deebo Samuel (heel) and Noah Brown (groin) were unable to play. Chosen's path to further opportunities likely depends on when the team's injured wideouts are able to return.

  • Commanders' Robbie Chosen: Elevated to active roster

The Commanders elevated Chosen from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday. Chosen joined the Commanders' practice squad at the end of September, but he has yet to appear in a game with the team. With both Deebo Samuel (heel) and Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) both sidelined, Chosen should have a chance to be active Sunday against the Cowboys.

  • Robbie Chosen: Signed to Washington's PS

The Commanders signed Chosen to the practice squad Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Chosen started the season on the 49ers' practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp. He was cut by the 49ers in early September, but the veteran wideout will get another opportunity with the Commanders, who are dealing with injuries to Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Noah Brown (groin). Chosen appeared in two regular-season games for the Dolphins in 2024 and finished with one catch on four targets for five yards.

  • Robbie Chosen: Gets cut from practice squad

San Francisco cut Chosen from its practice squad Tuesday. Despite the fact that the 49ers are dealing with a laundry list of injuries at the receiver position, they felt it was best to part ways with Chosen ahead of Week 2. He'll now have to look for his next opportunity with a new team.

  • Robbie Chosen: Joins SF's practice squad

Chosen signed with San Francisco's practice squad Wednesday. Chosen didn't make the 53-man roster, but the veteran wide receiver is a candidate for an early-season promotion, depending on the availability of San Francisco's various injured wideouts. The speedster's regular-season totals in receiving yards have dropped every subsequent season since he had a career-high 1,096 with the Panthers in 2020, down to 519 in 2021, 282 in 2022, 126 in 2023 and five yards in 2024.

  • Robbie Chosen: Shown door by 49ers

The 49ers released Chosen on Tuesday. Chosen played all three preseason games for the 49ers and registered nine receptions for 117 yards and no touchdowns. Nevertheless, he was shown the door despite a thin wide receiver room with multiple injuries in San Francisco. At 32 years old, Chosen's best days are likely behind him. He played two games with the Dolphins last season and caught one pass for five yards.

  • 49ers' Robbie Chosen: Starts for thin WR corps

Chosen brought in all three of his targets for 24 yards in Saturday's 30-23 preseason win over the Chargers. Chosen started alongside Demarcus Robinson for Saturday's preseason finale with projected starters Ricky Pearsall (rest) and Jauan Jennings (calf) sitting out the exhibition. Several reserve wideouts also were nursing injuries, so the 49ers turned to the 32-year-old Chosen, who excelled in the spot start. San Francisco will be awfully thin at the WR position out of the gates with Brandon Aiyuk (knee) expected to miss several weeks, Robinson serving a three-game suspension, and Jennings iffy for Week 1. Chosen may find himself not only surviving roster cuts, but actually getting work early in the year as a backup despite being signed just three weeks ago.

  • 49ers' Robbie Chosen: Signs with San Francisco

Chosen and the 49ers agreed on a one-year contract Sunday. Chosen signed with the 49ers in August of 2024, ultimately being released before the beginning of the regular season. The wide receiver then joined the Dolphins, catching one of four targets for five yards while playing 28 offensive snaps over two contests with the team. Chosen will now get another shot to prove himself with San Francisco ahead of the 2025 campaign.

  • Robbie Chosen: Off of practice squad

The Dolphins cut Chosen from the practice squad Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Chosen was mistake-prone in his appearance during Miami's resounding loss to the Bills last Thursday, and it appears the team isn't interested in providing him further time to acclimate to the offense. The veteran's release could also be an indication that the team expects to get Malik Washington (oblique) back on the field Week 3 versus the Seahawks.

  • Dolphins' Robbie Chosen: Elevated to active roster

The Dolphins elevated Chosen from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of Thursday night's divisional matchup against the Bills. Chosen will be active for Thursday Night Football against Buffalo after having played 11 offensive snaps (zero targets) during Miami's win over the Jaguars in Week 1. With rookie sixth-round wideout Malik Washington (quadriceps) sidelined again, Chosen will have another opportunity to handle a depth role behind top wideouts Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, plus No. 3 receiver Braxton Berrios.

  • Robbie Chosen: Reverts to practice squad

Chosen reverted to the Dolphins' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Chosen played on 12 of Miami's 71 offensive snaps against Jacksonville on Sunday and did not catch a pass. The veteran joined the Dolphins' practice squad Aug. 29 after failing to make the 49ers' 53-man roster.

  • Dolphins' Robbie Chosen: Brought up to active roster

Chosen was elevated to the active roster from the practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's regular-season opener against the Jaguars. Chosen joined the Dolphins' practice squad Aug. 29 after failing to make the 49ers' 53-man roster at the conclusion of training camp. With rookie sixth-round wideout Malik Washington (quadriceps) ruled out for Week 1, Chosen will serve as the Dolphins' fifth wide receiver behind Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Braxton Berrios and Grant DuBose. Across nine regular-season games with Miami last season, Chosen recorded four catches (on six targets) for 126 yards and one touchdown.

  • Robbie Chosen: Back in Magic City

The Dolphins signed Chosen to the practice squad Thursday. Chosen appeared in nine regular-season games for the Dolphins in 2023, during which he accrued four catches (on six targets) for 126 yards and one touchdown. He signed with the 49ers in early August to battle for a depth wide receiver spot, but he was ultimately left off the final 53-man roster. Chosen's familiarity with the Dolphins' offense should provide him an opportunity to be elevated to the active roster at some point during the upcoming season.

  • Robbie Chosen: Released by San Francisco

The 49ers released Chosen on Tuesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Chosen spent the better part of August with the Niners after appearing nine games for the Dolphins last season. He played 28 offensive snaps in San Francisco's preseason finale but wasn't targeted. Now 31 years old, Chosen's career is certainly winding down.

  • 49ers' Robbie Chosen: Latches on with San Francisco

Chosen agreed to terms on a contract with the 49ers on Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Chosen, who caught four passes in nine games for the Dolphins in 2023, now lands in San Francisco as a depth provision while Brandon Aiyuk's ongoing trade-request saga unfurls. Despite his ample experience in the NFL, the 31-year-old faces a difficult path to earning a roster spot with the 49ers, even if Aiyuk were to be dealt without San Francisco adding another notable wideout in return.

  • Robbie Chosen: Trying out with Seattle

Chosen will try out for the Seahawks this week during the team's mandatory minicamp, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. The wide receiver formerly known as Robby Anderson caught four passes in nine games for the Dolphins in 2023. The veteran has just 24 catches over the last two seasons. If he gets through his tryout and earns a contract, Chosen will join a crowded receiver room that includes DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

  • Dolphins' Robbie Chosen: Only four catches in 2023

Chosen secured four of six targets for 126 yards and one touchdown across nine appearances with the Dolphins in 2023. Chosen's season highlight came in his first appearance, when he hauled in a 68-yard touchdown on his lone target during Miami's trouncing of the Broncos in Week 3. The veteran was quiet after that point, as he spent the rest of the campaign bouncing between the Dolphins' practice squad and active roster. Given that Chosen is playing on a one-year deal and set to become an unrestricted free agent, his best chance of earning another contract in Miami will likely be to make another splash play or two in the playoffs, starting with Saturday's wild-card matchup at Kansas City.

  • Dolphins' Robbie Chosen: Ready for Sunday

Chosen (concussion) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Ravens. The veteran wideout sustained a concussion in the Dolphins' Week 16 win over the Cowboys, but it now seems as if he's been able to clear protocol after a full practice session Friday. Chosen could very well see increased opportunities in Miami's wide receiver room with Jaylen Waddle (ankle) missing Sunday's affair.
