Cooper was waived by the Jets on Friday, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
Cooper, signed by the Jets in 2017 after being cut by the 49ers, didn't show enough to make the final 53-man roster. The fourth-year veteran will attempt to sign elsewhere in the league as a depth option up front.

Cooper re-signed with the Jets on Monday, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
The deal aims to strengthen the depth up front and provide a security blanket for an already strong defensive group. Although Cooper likely won't start, the fourth-year veteran has a chance to help out in situational schemes.

Jets' Xavier Cooper: Signs with Jets
Cooper signed with the Jets on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Cooper was waived by the 49ers a week ago but it didn't take him long to find a new home in the NFL. The defensive lineman played in five games this season for San Francisco, posting seven tackles and a half sack in that time. With the Jets dealing with several injuries on the defensive line, Cooper will be brought in to add some insurance to the unit.

The 49ers waived Cooper on Tuesday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Cooper appeared in five games and logged seven tackles and a half sack for the 49ers, who picked him up on a waiver claim before the season. With bolstering their pass rush on the edge a greater need, however, the 49ers deemed Cooper expendable after signing defensive end Datone Jones in a corresponding move.
