  • Panthers' Amini Silatolu: Lands on injured reserve

Silatolu was placed on injured reserve Friday with a knee injury, Max Henson of the Panthers' official site reports.

Silatolu has seen action in six games this season as a reserve offensive lineman, and his season comes to a premature end Friday. The Panthers interior line depth has taken a hit recently, as Brendan Mahon (concussion) also landed on injured reserve Thursday.

  • Panthers' Amini Silatolu: Questionable for Sunday

Silatolu (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's season opener against the Cowboys, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.

Silatolu returned to practice in a limited capacity this week after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in early August. Brendan Mahon could see starting reps at left guard should Silatolu be unable to play.

  • Panthers' Amini Silatolu: Returns to practice

Silatolu (knee) returned to practice Sunday, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.

Silatolu is on the mend from a torn meniscus he sustained in early August. While there's no timeline for his return to game action, the offensive lineman at least appears to be trending in the right direction.

  • Panthers' Amini Silatolu: Will go under knife Friday

Silatolu tore his meniscus during Tuesday's practice and will undergo surgery Friday, Bill Voth of the Panthers' official site reports.

Silatolu was lined up to be the starting left guard in Carolina, but now he'll be considered week-to-week during recovery. His injury is another blow to the Panthers' offensive front, which saw starting right tackle Daryl Williams suffer a dislocated patella and torn MCL earlier in camp.

  • Panthers' Amini Silatolu: Stays with Carolina

The Panthers signed Silatolu to a one-year contract Monday.

Silatolu saw action in 14 games with the Panthers in 2017, starting in three of them in place of Trai Turner at right guard. The 29-year-old is likely to serve in a reserve role for Carolina's offensive line again next season.
