Linder hangs up the cleats after eight NFL seasons, all of which were spent with the Jaguars. The starting center's retirement frees up $10 million in salary cap space for Jacksonville but leaves the team with another notable hole to fill on the O-line as April's draft approaches.

Jaguars' Brandon Linder: Activated from COVID list
Linder (illness) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Linder was sidelined for the final two games of the season while in the COVID-19 protocols. The 29-year-old played exactly nine games for the third time in the past four seasons as he continues to deal with injuries. Linder remains under contract for 2022, but he could be cut with no dead cap hit, so Jacksonville could opt to move on this offseason.
