Eagles' Ron Brooks: Cut by Eagles
Brooks was cut by the Eagles on Wednesday, Dave Zangaro of CSN Philly reports.
This is a tough break for Brooks, who looked like he was on the cusp of carving a meaningful role with the defense this season. Despite his many highs early in camp, Brooks has had a riddled injury history that has limited his availability during his NFL tenure. After cutting Brooks , it's conceivable that the Eagles may make a run at fellow corner Joe Haden, who was released by the Browns on Wednesday.

Eagles' Ron Brooks: Leaves Thursday's game with hamstring injury
Brooks left Thursday's preseason opener against the Packers with a hamstring injury, Les Bowen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Brooks, who is coming off a quad tear that ended his 2016 season, was injured on punt coverage and forced to leave the game immediately after. The severity of the injury is yet to be reported, but given that Brooks is already coming off season-ending surgery, the team will likely remain cautious with the cornerback.

Eagles' Ron Brooks: In mix at cornerback
Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Monday that Brooks (quadriceps) is "obviously [the team's] nickel defender, nickel corner," Dave Zangaro of CSN Philadelphia reports.
Brooks was on the field for the first day of training Monday, seemingly fully recovered from a ruptured quad tendon that required surgery and cost him the final 10 games of 2016. Prior to suffering the injury, he had established himself as a starter at the position, and assuming his health holds up in camp, it looks like he'll have the inside edge on the nickel role heading into the regular season.
