Titans' Eric Weems: Released Friday
Weems was released by the Titans on Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
A 32-year-old special teams player with 39 receptions in 151 regular-season games, Weems may struggle to find work at this stage of his career. He never figured to stay in Tennessee once former head coach Mike Mularkey was fired.

Titans' Eric Weems: Fails on fake punt
Weems rushed once for no gain in Sunday's 12-7 loss to the Cardinals.
Weems was originally credited with one yard on a 4th-and-1 fake punt, but a challenge by Cardinals coach Bruce Arians revealed that Weems failed to make the line to gain. The former explosive return man is on his last legs in the NFL and rarely touches the ball in any situation anymore.

Titans' Eric Weems: One catch in Week 7
Weems caught a five-yard pass on his lone target during Sunday's 12-9 overtime win over the Browns.
The catch was Weems' first of the season. Even with his team beat up at the wide receiver position, Weems is unlikely to see more than a handful of offensive snaps while playing primarily on special teams.

Titans' Eric Weems: Re-signs with Titans
Weems re-signed with the Titans on Sunday, a day following his release Kevin Patra of NFL.comreports.
Weems signed with the Titans early in the offseason, but he ultimately was unable to make it through final cuts Saturday. However, a roster spot was made available after the team placed fellow receiver Harry Douglas on injured reserve Sunday. Thus, they opted to bring Weems back into the mix. He figures to play a special teams and depth-receiver role in the coming season.

Eric Weems: Hits free agency
Weems was released by the Titans on Saturday.
Weems signed with the Titans back in March, but they weren't willing to guarantee a contract to the return specialist. Head coach Mike Mularkey expressed some interest in bringing the 32-year-old back for Week 2 once contracts aren't guaranteed, should Weems still be available.
