Shaun Draughn: Works out with Saints
Draughn had a workout with the Saints on Monday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Draughn dealt with an ankle injury in the offseason and was released by the Giants at roster cutdowns in September. The Saints' recent trade of Adrian Peterson to the Cardinals helps explain the workout, but barring an injury, Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara likely have a stranglehold on the backfield snaps, even if New Orleans has further interest in Draughn.

Shaun Draughn: Released by Giants
Draughn was released by the Giants on Saturday, Ralph Vacchiano of SNY reports.
Draughn's tenure with the Giants got off to a rocky start due to an ankle injury that caused him to open training camp on the PUP list. He wasn't activated until mid-August and evidently didn't do enough in his limited time to warrant a roster spot. However, he could still be a valuable addition to a team in need of pass-catching options out of the backfield.

Giants' Shaun Draughn: Goes off in preseason finale
Draughn (concussion) had 14 carries for 54 yards and a touchdown and hauled in both of his targets for 25 yards in Thursday's preseason finale against New England.
While it was a strong showing from Draughn, it may be a case of too little too late, as he missed all of training camp while recovering from ankle surgery and then suffered a concussion last week. Draughn did at least prove his health in Thursday's game, but he still worked behind Orleans Darkwa, who is a clear favorite for the No. 3 job.

Giants' Shaun Draughn: Exits Saturday with concussion, neck injury
Draughn will not return to Saturday's tilt against the Jets due to a concussion and neck injury, James Kratch of NJ Advance Media reports.
Draught was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list Aug. 15 after recovering from summer ankle surgery. While the seriousness of either injury has yet to be disclosed, this certainly won't help his chances in competing for a roster spot.

Draughn (ankle) was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list Tuesday.
Draughn is returning from summer ankle surgery. The 29-year-old journeyman is competing for a roster spot, so his participation in training camp will be essential for his chances. Paul Perkins, Shane Vereen (leg) and rookie Wayne Gallman are all expected to make the team, so Draughn is mainly competing with Orleans Darkwa for the final roster spot.

Draughn (ankle) intensified his rehab this week, but he's still falling behind Orleans Darkwa in the competition for a roster spot, NJ.com's Dan Duggan reports.
Coming off summer ankle surgery, the 29-year-old journeyman has already missed the first two weeks of training camp and presumably won't be available any sooner than the third or fourth week of the preseason. With Paul Perkins, Shane Vereen (leg) and fourth-round rookie Wayne Gallman all expected to make the team, Draughn is left to compete with Darkwa for one spot, which may come down to special teams value. It isn't clear if Draughn will be available at any point during training camp to make his case.

Draughn will open training camp on the PUP list due to an ankle injury, according to Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York.
The severity of Draughn's setback is not certain, but it will prevent him from taking part in workouts as training camp gets underway. When Draughn is healthy enough to get back on the field, he will compete for a reserve running back spot.
