  • Heat's Myron Gardner: Won't play again this summer

Gardner (ankle) won't participate in the Las Vegas Summer League, per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. Gardner's Summer League is over because of an ankle sprain he suffered in Friday's California Classic opener in San Francisco against the Spurs. The swingman is missing out on valuable reps as he competes for a rotation spot with the Heat, but he does have plenty of time to recuperate for training camp in the fall.

Gardner (ankle) won't play Monday against the Warriors Gold, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. For now, he should be considered questionable for Friday's Summer League game against the Bucks in Las Vegas.

Gardner (ankle) won't play in Sunday's California Classic Summer League game against the Lakers, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports. • Heat's Myron Gardner: Won't return Friday

Gardner (ankle) won't return to Friday's California Classic Summer League game against the Spurs, Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel reports. He will finish with two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3P), four rebounds and two assists across seven minutes. Gardner is one of only two players on the Summer League roster on a standard deal. The 25-year-old wasn't a routine contributor for Miami during the 2025-26 campaign, though he averaged 8.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.1 blocks, 1.4 steals and 50.0 percent shooting from deep across 21.0 minutes in seven regular-season starts. Gardner should be considered questionable ahead of Sunday's Summer League meeting with the Lakers.

  • Heat's Myron Gardner: Drops out of rotation Thursday

Gardner (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Thursday in the Heat's 134-126 loss to the Lakers. Gardner had appeared in each of the Heat's previous six games, but after a three-game run as a starter, he had been a fringe part of the rotation while moving to the bench for the latter three contests. Though Miami was without Jaime Jaquez (hip) and Andrew Wiggins (toe) on Thursday, the return of Bam Adebayo (calf) was enough to bump Gardner out of the rotation entirely.

Gardner recorded 12 points (4-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 11 rebounds and two steals in 23 minutes during Saturday's 125-118 loss to Chicago. Gardner was a healthy scratch in each of the Heat's two games prior to Saturday's contest, but he was thrust into a starting role against Chicago due to the absences of Tyler Herro (ribs), Norman Powell (personal) and Davion Mitchell (shoulder). Gardner went on to have his most productive game of the season, co-leading the Heat in rebounds while logging the first double-double of his NBA career.
