  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: To miss two weeks

Edwards (hamstring) will miss two weeks of action, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Monday. This is a devastating blow for Edwards' fantasy managers, and for the Timberwolves in general. Based on this initial timetable of two weeks, Edwards will miss at least the next eight regular-season games. That sets up a potential return on Nov. 14 against the Kings. Edwards' official diagnosis is a right hamstring strain after it was previously described as tightness, so it's understandable that the team is being cautious here. In the meantime, Bones Hyland, Terrence Shannon and Jaylen Clark are candidates for increased minutes for Minnesota.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Leads Wolves with 31 points

Edwards tallied 31 points (11-19 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 6-9 FT), five assists, four rebounds and one block over 35 minutes during the Timberwolves' 128-110 loss to the Lakers on Friday. Edwards followed up his 41-point performance on Opening Night with another strong outing Friday to lead the Timberwolves in scoring, though his efforts were overshadowed by Luka Doncic. Edwards connected on 44.7 percent of his field-goal attempts last year and has opened the 2025-26 regular season having gone 25-for-47 on his field-goal attempts through two games. Edwards will continue to be the focal point in the Timberwolves' offense with Julius Randle the clear second option.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Will play vs. Portland

Edwards (back) has been cleared to play in Wednesday's season opener against the Trail Blazers, NBA reporter Chris Haynes reports. Edwards has been battling back spasms, but it won't keep him off the floor. The superstar guard is coming off his best NBA season, averaging 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 44.7 percent from the field and a career-high 39.5 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Iffy for Wednesday

Edwards (back) is questionable for Wednesday's season opener against the Trail Blazers. Edwards is dealing with back spasms, which could result in him sitting for the regular-season opener. If the superstar guard is unable to play, the team will likely pivot to Donte DiVincenzo and Terrence Shannon to help shoulder the load in the backcourt.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Won't play in preseason finale

Edwards (rest) is out for Friday's preseason finale against the 76ers. Following Thursday's exhibition tilt against the Bulls, the Timberwolves will give their franchise centerpiece the night off Friday. Edwards will next set his sights on Wednesday's season opener against Portland.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Leads Minnesota with 25 points

Edwards ended with 25 points (9-19 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds and five assists in 30 minutes during Thursday's preseason loss to the Bulls. Edwards led from the front, returning after missing the previous preseason contest due to rest purposes. Coming off another stellar season, Edwards is poised to take his game to yet another level this season. Minnesota has welcomed success in recent times, largely due to the play of Edwards. Look for him to shoulder even more responsibility in the hopes of leading the Timberwolves to an NBA title.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Disappointing performance Monday

Edwards posted 16 points (5-13 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 5-7 FT), four rebounds and six assists in 41 minutes during Monday's 128-126 loss to the Thunder in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals. Edwards came up short in the loss, tallying just 16 points in what was arguably the most important game of the season. Although it's been a strong postseason, some questions remain when it comes to Edwards' ability to produce when it matters. Now trailing 3-1, Edwards will have a chance to redeem himself when the two teams meet in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, with Minnesota needing a win to extend the series.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Lands game-high 30 points

Edwards accumulated 30 points (12-17 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and two steals in 30 minutes during Saturday's 143-101 victory over the Thunder in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. Edwards carried the Timberwolves to a comfortable win in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, needing just 30 minutes to score a game-high 30 points. This one was never in doubt for Minnesota, allowing the starters to get some much-needed rest during the final quarter. Edwards will be looking for a repeat performance when the two teams meet again Monday, with the Timberwolves having a chance to level the series at 2-2.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Shines in Game 3 victory

Edwards provided 30 points (12-17 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and two steals over 30 minutes during Saturday's 143-101 win over the Thunder in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. Edwards could've ended with an even higher scoring output, but he sat out the entire fourth quarter. Despite that, the star guard still ended just one board and four dimes away from a triple-double. Edwards and the Timberwolves delivered an answer following back-to-back losses in the first two games of the series, and now Minnesota has a realistic shot at evening things up before returning to Oklahoma City for Game 5 on Wednesday, May 28.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Returns Tuesday

Edwards (ankle) has returned in the second quarter of Tuesday's Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Thunder, Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports. Edwards tweaked his ankle in the first quarter and began the second in the locker room before checking back in at the 7:01 mark. The superstar appears to be moving well and will likely be able to shoulder his normal workload the rest of the way.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Leaves for locker room Tuesday

Edwards appeared to tweak his ankle and exited to the locker room after the first quarter of Tuesday's Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Thunder, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports. Edwards appeared to injure his ankle on a drive to the basket but remained in the game until the end of the quarter. If the superstar is unable to return, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Jaylen Clark are candidates for an uptick in playing time the rest of the way.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Powers Minnesota to victory

Edwards contributed 30 points (11-21 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, five assists and two steals in 33 minutes during Monday's 117-110 win over Golden State in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Edwards scored at least 30 points for the second straight game, helping Minnesota win comfortably. The margin was sizeable enough to allow Edwards to sit out a significant portion of the final quarter. Feeling refreshed and ready to go, Edwards and the Timberwolves will look to wrap up the series at home Wednesday.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Goes for 36 points

Edwards recorded 36 points (13-28 FG, 5-14 FG, 5-8 FT), four rebounds, four assists and a block across 44 minutes in Saturday's Game 3 against the Warriors. Edwards posted 20 and 23 points in Game 1 and 2 of the series, but he performed even more admirably in this huge road win for Minnesota. The star guard has scored at least 25 points in four of his last six playoff showings.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Will return Thursday

Edwards (ankle) is available to return to Thursday's Game 2 against the Warriors. Edwards will start the second half after being helped off the court in the second quarter due to a sprained left ankle. The superstar was moving well during his halftime warmup and will likely be able to shoulder his normal workload the rest of the way.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Questionable to return

Edwards is questionable to return to Thursday's Game 2 against the Warriors due to a left ankle sprain. Edwards walked gingerly to the locker room during the second quarter after getting stepped on by an opposing player on a play under the basket, and he's been officially diagnosed with an ankle sprain. He'll presumably test his ankle during halftime to determine whether a return is possible.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Bounces back in second half

Edwards supplied 23 points (9-22 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals in 42 minutes during Tuesday's 99-88 loss to the Warriors in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Edwards struggled badly in the first half but bounced back in the final two quarters and scored all but one of his 23 points. However, the late surge wasn't enough, and the Timberwolves still lost Game 1 of the series at home. Minnesota needs Edwards to be at his best in this playoff series, and while the 23-point output ended up being a solid display, the team needs him to be more efficient since he needed 22 shots.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Generates double-double in victory

Edwards finished with 15 points (5-19 FG, 0-11 3Pt, 5-8 FT), 11 rebounds, eight assists and three steals in 43 minutes during Wednesday's 103-96 victory over the Lakers in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Although Rudy Gobert was the hero of the series-clinching win, Edwards still ended the night with the team's third-highest scoring total. His 15 points marked his lowest scoring total of the series, and his dreadful 0-for-11 night beyond the arc was the culprit. Minnesota's frontcourt carried the load by exploiting the Lakers' small-ball lineup, but the offense should shift back in Edwards' direction in the quarterfinals.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Erupts for game-high 43 in win

Edwards amassed 43 points (12-23 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 14-17 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and one block over 44 minutes during Sunday's 116-113 win over the Lakers in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. The fifth-year guard led all scorers on the afternoon as the Timberwolves pushed to within one win of advancing to the second round. Edwards has topped 20 points in all four games in the series so far, averaging 29.8 points, 7.8 boards, 5.8 assists, 4.0 threes and 0.8 steals.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Fills up stat sheet in Game 1

Edwards provided 22 points (8-22 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine assists, eight rebounds and one steal across 35 minutes Saturday in the Timberwolves' 117-95 win over the Lakers in Game 1 of the Western Conference quarterfinal-round series. Edwards didn't have the best first half in Game 1, but made up for it in the second half by coming two rebounds and one assist shy of a triple-double to help lead his team to a win in Los Angeles. Although Naz Reid and Jaden McDaniels stole the show for Minnesota by combining for 48 points, the Timberwolves will need Edwards to keep playing at a high level to pull off a first-round series victory.

  • Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Returns to Game 1

Edwards (cramping) returned to Saturday's Game 1 matchup with the Lakers with 10:57 remaining in the fourth quarter, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. Edwards missed about four minutes of game action after checking out of the contest with 2:58 remaining in the third quarter and heading to the locker room. With the Timberwolves determining that Edwards wasn't dealing with anything more than cramping, he was cleared to check back into the game after getting rehydrated.
