Caleb McConnell: Waived by Houston
McConnell was waived by the Rockets on Friday.
McConnell signed with the Rockets earlier Friday but was waived shortly after, likely paving the way for him to join their G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The Rutgers product spent last season with the Hornets' G League team, the Greensboro Swarm, where he averaged 5.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.7 steals across 26 appearances.

Rockets' Caleb McConnell: Signs with Rockets
McConnell and the Rockets agreed to a deal Friday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
Houston's preseason has wrapped up, so McConnell won't have a chance in game action this fall. That makes it very likely that he's going to the G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers shortly.

McConnell signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Hornets on Wednesday, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.
A two-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year at Rutgers, McConnell spent the 2023-24 season with the G League's Oklahoma City Blue. McConnell will join the Hornets for training camp to compete for a final roster spot, but he'll most likely end up with the Greensboro Swarm.

McConnell signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Thunder on Friday, Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.com reports.
McConnell wasn't drafted Thursday after spending five seasons at Rutgers, but he'll be able to compete for a roster spot with the Thunder during the offseason. He averaged 9.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.5 steals in 33.7 minutes per game during his final year with the Scarlet Knights.
