  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Goes for 25 points

Murphy provided 25 points (7-14 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 10-10 FT), three rebounds, one block and three steals over 35 minutes during Friday's 118-115 loss to the Mavericks. Murphy is firmly entrenched as one of the most reliable scoring options for the Pelicans this season, and the forward has often hovered around the 20-point mark while putting up solid numbers in other categories. Murphy has posted 20 or more points in seven of his last eight games, averaging 25.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.4 steals per game.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Logs season high in triples in loss

Murphy supplied 23 points (7-14 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five steals, three assists, two rebounds and one block across 36 minutes in Wednesday's 125-118 loss to the Nuggets. Murphy knocked down a season-high-tying five triples and finished as New Orleans' second-leading scorer, albeit in a losing effort. The fifth-year swingman continues to provide value on both ends of the floor. He tallied a season-high five steals against Denver and has recorded at least three swipes in three straight games. The 25-year-old has also scored at least 18 points in each of his last seven outings.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Season-high four steals Sunday

Murphy registered 20 points (6-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and four steals across 31 minutes during Sunday's 124-106 loss to Golden State. Murphy led the team in scoring and turned in a season-high four steals, but it wasn't enough to prevent a blowout defeat. Zion Williamson (hamstring) appears to be on the verge of returning to the court, which may lead to a dip in usage for Murphy soon. In any case, Murphy has averaged a strong 19.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.5 steals in 13 games this season, shooting 45.6 percent from the field.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Outstanding effort not enough

Murphy ended Friday's 118-104 loss to the Lakers with 35 points (13-21 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), six rebounds and one steal across 39 minutes. Murphy was a problem the Lakers' defense couldn't solve, and he led the Pelicans in scoring by a wide margin in this loss. The fifth-year forward endured a bit of a slow start this season but has been on a tear of late. This was his fourth straight game with 20-plus points, and the second time he reached the 35-point mark in that span. Look for Murphy to remain as the Pelicans' undisputed go-to option on offense, especially with Zion Williamson (hamstring) sidelined and not returning until next week at the earliest.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Stuffs stat sheet Wednesday

Murphy accumulated 22 points (8-18 FG, 3-11 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds, five assists and one steal over 39 minutes during Wednesday's 125-117 loss to the Trail Blazers. Murphy posted a solid stat line across the board and continues to play at a high level since his 41-point outburst in the loss to the Spurs on Nov. 8. With Zion Williamson (hamstring) out, Murphy has been forced to step up into a bigger scoring role for the Pelicans but has done a good job in that regard. He's reached the 20-point mark in four of his last five outings, averaging 23.2 points, 7.2 boards and 4.0 assists per game in that stretch.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Double-doubles against Phoenix

Murphy chipped in 21 points (6-14 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 7-9 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals across 33 minutes during Monday's 121-98 loss to the Suns. Murphy was unable to repeat the 41-point outburst he delivered against the Spurs on Saturday, but he surpassed the 20-point mark for the fourth time this season. There's a strong argument to say Murphy has been the Pelicans' best player this season -- even ahead of Zion Williamson (hamstring) -- and is on a scoring tear with an average of 21.7 points per contest over his last six games while shooting 48.4 percent from the floor in that stretch.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Erupts for season-high 41 points

Murphy totaled 41 points (15-22 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 6-6 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one steal over 38 minutes during Saturday's 126-119 loss to the Spurs. Murphy delivered his best performance of the season, tallying a game-high 41 points, albeit in another loss. Despite a somewhat passive start to the season, Murphy has been easily the best fantasy asset on this Pelicans roster, averaging 17.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 2.9 three-pointers. Until Zion Williamson is cleared to return from a hamstring injury, look for Murphy to continue shouldering the bulk of the offensive load.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Just falls short of double-double

Murphy recorded 11 points (3-12 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals across 38 minutes during Wednesday's 101-99 victory over the Mavericks. After drilling five threes in each of his past three games, Murphy cooled down quite a bit Wednesday. The star forward should see some extra shots fall his way until the Pelicans get Zion Williamson (hamstring) and Jordan Poole (knee) back into the lineup. Murphy has averaged a productive 14.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.3 steals per contest in eight games this season, but he's shooting just 38.3 percent from the floor.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Drops 21 points in win

Murphy racked up 21 points (7-16 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block across 37 minutes during Tuesday's 116-112 win over the Hornets. Murphy continues to be lights-out from beyond the arc, as he has hit five three-pointers in three consecutive games. The Virginia product may be playing on a bad team, but he definitely has substantial fantasy value.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Sinks five treys in loss

Murphy provided 19 points (7-13 FG, 5-10 3Pt), five rebounds, two assists and one steal across 32 minutes during Sunday's 137-106 loss to the Thunder. The fifth-year wing sank five three-pointers for the second straight game, as Murphy begins to heat up from downtown. He's scored in double digits in four of six contests to start the season, averaging 14.5 points, 6.5 boards, 3.5 assists, 2.5 threes and 1.2 steals while shooting 34.9 percent (15-for-43) from beyond the arc.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Poor shooting continues

Murphy finished with seven points (1-8 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds and one steal across 32 minutes during Wednesday's 122-88 loss to the Nuggets. Murphy couldn't get anything going in the loss, shooting under 30 percent for the second straight game. Outside of one solid performance against the Spurs, Murphy has struggled to begin the season, averaging 12.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.3 three-pointers across the first four games. Look for him to bounce back sooner rather than later, making this an ideal time to buy low in fantasy leagues.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Notches 24 point double-double

Murphy finished Friday's 120-116 overtime loss to the Spurs with 24 points (9-18 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals in 46 minutes. Following a modest box score in the Pelicans opener, Murphy excelled against the Spurs. He was dialed in on the boards, efficient from the field, and active on defense. His 46 minutes led all players in Friday's overtime loss. He'll have the weekend to recuperate before attempting to repeat that effort against Boston Monday.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Tears labrum, out for season

Murphy will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn labrum and partial rotator cuff tear in his right shoulder during Monday's 127-81 loss to the Pistons, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Murphy sustained the injury less than one minute into the game, when he was diving after a loose ball. The 24-year-old wing was ruled out for the remainder of the contest shortly thereafter before he was quickly diagnosed with the season-ending injury. He'll finish a career-best 2024-25 campaign with averages of 21.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.0 three-pointers, 1.1 steals and 0.7 blocks across 35.6 minutes per contest while shooting 45.4 percent from the field and 88.7 percent from the free-throw line over 53 games. With Murphy sidelined, the Pelicans could pump more usage into CJ McCollum and Zion Williamson, while guards and wings such as Jordan Hawkins, Jose Alvarado and Bruce Brown could all notice spikes in playing time.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Out Monday with shoulder injury

Murphy won't return to Monday's game against the Pistons due to a right shoulder injury. X-rays on Murphy's shoulder came back negative, but he could be dealing with a sprain that may result in him missing some time. He suffered the injury one minute into Monday's contest while pursuing a loose ball and recorded no statistics before checking out of the game. The 24-year-old has been the Pelicans' most reliable scoring option throughout the season, and his absence for at least the rest of Monday's contest could open up more looks for CJ McCollum, Zion Williamson and Jordan Hawkins, among others.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Makes locker-room trip

Murphy exited in the first quarter of Monday's game against Detroit and headed to the locker room to be evaluated for a shoulder injury, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports. Murphy looked to be in serious pain after diving for a loose ball early in the first quarter. He had his shoulder checked on by trainers before heading to the locker room. The Pelicans will likely provide an update on his status coming out of halftime, if he isn't able to return before then.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Stuffs stat sheet Sunday

Murphy contributed 27 points (9-21 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 7-9 FT), five rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 37 minutes during Sunday's 107-104 loss to the Grizzlies. Murphy embraced a bigger role on offense due to the absences of CJ McCollum (rest) and Zion Williamson (rest), and that resulted in him leading the Pelicans in scoring. Murphy has reached the 20-point mark in three of his last five appearances and is having a breakout on offense in 2024-25, averaging a career-high 21.8 points per game across 49 appearances while shooting 45.6 percent from the floor and 36.1 percent from three-point range.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Game-high 26 not enough Thursday

Murphy totaled 26 points (9-15 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five rebounds and two blocks across 39 minutes during Thursday's 109-97 loss to the Rockets. The fourth-year wing led all scorers on the night, but Murphy couldn't stop Houston from pulling away in the second half. He's drained multiple three-pointers in seven of eight games since the All-Star break, averaging 19.0 points, 5.1 boards, 4.4 assists, 3.0 threes, 1.1 steals and 0.9 blocks over that stretch.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Posts all-around fantasy line

Murphy racked up 20 points (8-20 FG, 3-13 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals over 36 minutes during Sunday's 128-121 win over the Jazz. Murphy has been cold from the field over his last 10 games, hitting 37.5 percent of his shots. He's still been productive on the stat sheet, however, averaging 18.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.6 blocks and 2.9 three-pointers in 36.9 minutes per game. He'll almost certainly continue to be a focal point of the offense the rest of the way.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Sniffs double-double

Murphy ended with 10 points (3-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, eight assists, one block and one steal over 35 minutes during Friday's 125-108 loss to the Suns. Murphy embraced a bigger role in the playmaking department due to the absences of CJ McCollum and Zion Williamson due to rest, and he finished just two assists away from recording a double-double. A do-it-all forward who can leave his mark on both ends of the court on a regular basis, Murphy is averaging 21.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.8 assists and a combined 1.5 steals-plus-blocks across 11 appearances in February.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Leads New Orleans in victory

Murphy produced 24 points (9-21 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals over 36 minutes during Tuesday's 109-103 victory over the Spurs. Murphy recorded a game-high 24 points, marking his 25th outing with 20-plus points this season. The fourth-year pro has been a bright spot during a lackluster 2024-25 campaign for the Pelicans, and he has yet to score in single digits through 42 regular-season appearances. Murphy also recorded multiple blocks and steals for just the third time this season Tuesday, and he is on pace to average career highs in both swipes (1.2) and swats (0.7).
