Rockets' Amen Thompson: Team-high 18 points in Game 6 loss
Thompson accumulated 18 points (7-14 FG, 4-6 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and three blocks over 45 minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Thompson did most of his scoring out of halftime, scoring 10 of his team-high 18 points in the third quarter, but the Rockets were in too much of a deficit to mount a comeback and extend the series to Game 7. The third-year pro finished the series averaging 19.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.2 blocks over 44.2 minutes per game. Thompson averaged career highs in points, assists and steals during the 2025-26 regular season and should command a sizable extension from the Rockets during the offseason.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Busy on defense in win over Lakers
Thompson racked up 15 points (4-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-8 FT), seven rebounds, four assists and four steals over 46 minutes during Wednesday's 99-93 win over the Lakers in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
The third-year guard posted his highest steals total of the series while scoring at least 15 points for the fifth straight game. Thompson has been a stabilizing force in the Rockets' backcourt, averaging 19.4 points, 6.8 boards, 6.2 assists, 2.4 steals and 0.8 blocks on the series, and he'll likely need to be productive again in Game 6 on Friday back in Houston if his team is going to keep its season alive.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Drops game-high 23 in Sunday's win
Thompson provided 23 points (10-16 FG, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 41 minutes during Sunday's 115-96 win over the Lakers in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
The 23 points led all scorers on the night as the Rockets avoided a first-round sweep. Thompson has seen his usage rise with Kevin Durant (ankle) sidelined the last two contests, and through four games to begin the postseason, the third-year guard is averaging 20.5 points, 6.8 boards, 6.8 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in a massive 43.5 minutes. Thompson will likely need to come up big again on the road in Game 5 on Wednesday if Houston is going to stay alive.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Elite two-way performance
Thompson totaled 26 points (8-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 10-13 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and three steals over 48 minutes during Friday's 112-108 overtime loss to the Lakers in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Thompson did everything he could Friday, recording a 26-and-11 double-double while also adding six combined steals-plus-blocks. However, his efforts were in vain, as Houston lost another heartbreaker. Now behind 3-0 in the series, the Rockets have nothing to lose heading into Game 4 on Sunday.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Finishes with 17 points
Thompson logged 17 points (7-18 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-6 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists, one block and three steals across 43 minutes during Saturday's 107-98 loss to the Lakers in Game 1 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Thompson was smothered by a proficient Lakers defense during the Game 1 defeat, and although he put together decent totals in secondary categories, he converted only 38.3 percent of his shots in the losing effort. Kevin Durant's (knee) absence loomed large during Saturday's game, and increased production from the standout guard will be essential to buoy Houston's chances of advancing past the first round.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Omitted from injury report
Thompson (rest) isn't listed on the injury report for Saturday's Game 1 against the Lakers.
Thompson sat out Houston's regular-season finale but is set to return for the start of the playoffs. The third-year guard averaged 23.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.2 steals in 38.5 minutes per game across six regular-season appearances in April.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Dazzles with 41 points
Thompson amassed 41 points (17-22 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 7-7 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals across 42 minutes during Friday's 136-132 loss to the Timberwolves.
Although Thompson finished with his highest scoring total of the season, the Timberwolves snapped Houston's eight-game winning streak. Amazingly, Thompson arrived at his voluminous total without any help from bonus points beyond the arc. All of Thompson's 17 baskets came from inside the perimeter. The Rockets are locked into the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference, so it wouldn't be surprising if Thompson and other Houston regulars play fewer minutes than usual or are held out altogether for the team's regular-season finale Sunday.

Thompson (rest) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Grizzlies.
Thompson will sit out the Rockets' regular-season finale but should be able to return for the start of the postseason. The 23-year-old guard will end the regular season averaging career highs in points (18.3), assists (5.3), steals (1.5) and minutes (37.4), along with 7.8 rebounds and 0.6 blocks per game across a career-high 79 outings.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Strikes for 19 in Thursday's win
Thompson amassed 19 points (7-14 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-8 FT), five rebounds, four assists and three steals in 42 minutes during Thursday's 113-102 victory over the 76ers.
The third-year guard has been rock solid for the Rockets down the stretch. Thompson has scored at least 14 points in eight straight games, averaging 18.4 points, 6.9 boards, 5.6 assists and 2.0 steals over that span while shooting 56.4 percent from the floor as Houston tries to chase down Denver and the Lakers for the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.
