Celtics' Payton Pritchard: New role incoming
Pritchard could benefit from additional offensive opportunities after Boston dealt Jaylen Brown to Philadelphia, John Schuhmann of NBA.com reports.
Although Paul George is expected to step into a starting role, Brown's departure creates extra ball-handling and scoring chances throughout the rotation, potentially allowing Pritchard to build on last season's breakout campaign. Increased minutes in three-guard lineups could help preserve his fantasy relevance despite George's arrival.

Celtics' Payton Pritchard: Struggles from deep once again
Pritchard racked up 13 points (5-13 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 39 minutes during Saturday's 109-100 loss to Philadelphia in Game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Pritchard logged 39 minutes in Game 7, his most of the series. Although the 28-year-old was productive, he once again struggled from three-point range. With Boston now eliminated from the playoffs, the Celtics may need to make some adjustments in order to remain competitive moving ahead. Pritchard, who has a couple of years left on his current contract, is coming off a solid 2025-26 campaign, averaging a career-best 17.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists across 32.4 minutes in 79 regular-season appearances. Unless the Celtics receive a substantial offer, it's hard to imagine the team parting ways with the 2025 Sixth Man of the Year. Still, Pritchard might benefit from a change of scenery if he can carve out a stable role as a starter for a new club.

Celtics' Payton Pritchard: Logs team-high 32 points from bench
Pritchard contributed 32 points (12-21 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, five assists and one steal over 35 minutes during Sunday's 128-96 win over the 76ers in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Pritchard was on fire during Game 4, drilling six three-pointers on the way to a convincing victory. Most recently, Pritchard has performed as an effective sixth man for the Celtics. He started 50 games amid various injury scenarios that plagued the team, but he seems best suited as a spark plug with the second unit off the bench. He experienced career highs in almost every major category in this sixth season and has been invaluable to the team as it strives to bring another title back to Boston.

Pritchard delivered an improved effort, landing a number of crucial three-pointers down the stretch. While this was an encouraging performance, Pritchard has been far from his best during the series, averaging just 10.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.3 three-pointers across three games.

Pritchard couldn't get anything going Tuesday, scoring just four points on 2-for-8 shooting. Boston was likely caught off guard in the loss, with numerous players delivering below expectations.
