Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Undergoing surgery Sunday
DiVincenzo will undergo surgery Sunday to repair a ruptured right Achilles tendon that he suffered during the Timberwolves' Game 4 win over the Nuggets on Saturday.
DiVincenzo will have his surgery done by Dr. Martin O'Malley, the same surgeon who repaired the torn right Achilles of Jayson Tatum in May 2025. The fact that the procedure is taking place within 24 hours of DiVincenzo's injury should help with the recovery, though it would be unfair to expect the veteran guard to return as quickly as Tatum did, which was in essentially 10 months. It seems more likely that DiVincenzo will miss the entire 2026-27 season, though if he does progress enough to return, it wouldn't be until late in the regular season. The Timberwolves will also be without Anthony Edwards (knee) for multiple weeks, so the team will turn to Ayo Dosunmu, Mike Conley and Bones Hyland to carry more of the load for the rest of the postseason.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Diagnosed with torn Achilles
DiVincenzo has been diagnosed with a torn right Achilles tendon, and he will miss the remainder of the postseason, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
An Achilles tear comes with a lengthy rehab period, so it wouldn't be shocking to see DiVincenzo wind up missing the entire 2026-27 season, but we'll have a better idea of his potential timetable after he undergoes surgery. Ayo Dosunmu and Bones Hyland will help absorb DiVincenzo's minutes in Minnesota.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Won't return Saturday
DiVincenzo (leg) won't return to Saturday's Game 4 matchup with the Nuggets.
DiVincenzo suffered a non-contact lower right leg injury, and his diagnosis should become clearer after further testing. His absence will open up minutes for Ayo Dosunmu and Bones Hyland.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Exits to locker room
DiVincenzo exited to the locker room in the first quarter of Saturday's Game 4 against the Nuggets due to an apparent right lower leg injury, Anthony Slater of ESPN.com reports.
DiVincenzo limped off the floor under his own power after suffering a non-contact injury just over one minute into Saturday's contest. If he's unable to return, Ayo Dosunmu and Bones Hyland will likely help pick up the slack.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Productive in Game 2 win
DiVincenzo amassed 16 points (6-9 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 0-2 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and one steal over 31 minutes during Monday's 119-114 victory over the Nuggets in Game 2 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
The 29-year-old guard drained four treys for the second straight game to begin the Timberwolves' playoff run. With Anthony Edwards leading the charge for Minnesota once again, DiVincenzo is back to being a steady source of secondary offense, and he's sunk at least one three-pointer in 15 straight games dating back to March 18, averaging 11.9 points, 3.2 threes, 2.8 boards, 2.7 assists and 0.9 steals during that stretch.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Quality shooting effort from deep
DiVincenzo notched 12 points (4-9 FG, 4-7 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists and two steals in 31 minutes during Saturday's 116-105 loss to Denver in Game 1 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
DiVincenzo was the lowest-scoring Minnesota starter in Game 1. Still, he was the team's best shooter from downtown by sinking four of his seven attempts while leading the team in steals. With the Timberwolves falling short of a win to open the series, Minnesota will try to knot things up Monday night in Game 2.
