  • Spurs' Harrison Barnes: Will remain in San Antonio

Barnes will sign a one-year, $8 million contract to return to the Spurs for the 2026-27 season, Shams Charania of ESPN reports Monday.

Barnes started for San Antonio for the majority of the 2025-26 regular season before being moved to a bench role in early February. He saw his playing time decline in the playoffs and was a healthy scratch in each of San Antonio's last three games against New York in the NBA Finals. However, Barnes will return to the Spurs for the upcoming season and will provide the team with veteran depth in the frontcourt.

  • Spurs' Harrison Barnes: Production declines in 2025-26

Barnes finished the 2025-26 campaign with averages of 10.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 25.8 minute per game across 77 regular-season appearances (52 starts).

Barnes didn't see the floor in any of the final three games of the Finals after logging 17 total minutes in the first two outings of the series. The veteran forward was a regular in the starting lineup to begin the regular season but started only three games after the All-Star break. The 34-year-old is set to enter unrestricted free agency this offseason.

  • Spurs' Harrison Barnes: Increased role in Game 4 win

Barnes finished with five points (0-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds and one steal across 16 minutes during Sunday's 103-82 win over the Thunder in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.

Barnes logged at least 15 minutes for just the second time in the postseason, providing San Antonio with some additional size, particularly on the defensive end. In six postseason games over the past two weeks, Barnes has averaged just 2.2 points in 8.0 minutes. Given the fact that Sunday's result was a favorable one for the Spurs, it will be interesting to see whether Barnes once again plays meaningful minutes off the bench in Game 5 on Tuesday.

  • Spurs' Harrison Barnes: Drops 12 points in blowout win

Barnes finished Wednesday's 133-95 victory over the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 12 points (4-7 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and two rebounds across 15 minutes.

Barnes scored in double digits for the first time in the postseason, playing a handful of additional minutes as the game descended into garbage time. Prior to Wednesday, Barnes had scored a total of 13 points in six appearances, playing a muted role off the bench. Assuming Game 3 is a little more competitive, expect to see Barnes' playing time back in single digits.

  • Spurs' Harrison Barnes: Will be available

Barnes (shoulder) will be available for Friday's Game 3 against Portland, Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Barnes exited Tuesday's 106-103 Game 2 loss to the Trail Blazers in the fourth quarter and did not return due to an apparent left wrist injury, but coach Mitch Johnson clarified that it's Barnes' shoulder that is the issue. The forward practiced Thursday, however, and he intends to play through the issue.

  • Spurs' Harrison Barnes: Exits early Tuesday

Barnes exited Tuesday's 106-103 Game 2 loss to the Trail Blazers in the fourth quarter and did not return due to an apparent left wrist injury, finishing with four points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and one rebound in 15 minutes.

Barnes headed back to the locker room in the fourth quarter after Deni Avdija collided with his left wrist. Barnes eventually returned to the bench, though it's unclear if he was available to check back in. The veteran forward's next chance to play will come in Game 3 in Portland on Friday.

  • Spurs' Harrison Barnes: Exits to locker room

Barnes exited to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Tuesday's Game 2 against the Trail Blazers due to an apparent left wrist injury, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports.

Deni Avdija ran into Barnes' wrist, and the latter immediately grabbed at it before exiting to the locker room. If the veteran forward is unable to return, Keldon Johnson and Julian Champagnie will likely pick up the slack.
