Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Remains out Tuesday
Soderstrom (groin) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Boston.
Soderstrom hasn't played in nearly a week due to groin tightness and will miss a fifth straight start Tuesday, though there's no indication to this point that he could require a trip to the 10-day injured list. Max Schuemann will get a start in left field for the Athletics in Tuesday's series opener.

Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Scratched with groin tightness
Soderstrom was scratched from the lineup for Friday's game versus the Reds due to groin tightness, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Soderstrom's groin first began bothering him during his pinch-hit appearance Wednesday, and it appears to still be an issue after a day off Thursday. He'll now receive another day to recover while Carlos Cortes steps in to cover left field during Friday's series opener.

Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Sitting for matinee
Soderstrom is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
For the fifth consecutive game, the Athletics are facing off against a left-handed starter (Payton Tolle), and though the left-handed-hitting Soderstrom started in each of the previous four contests, he'll take a seat Wednesday. JJ Bleday will cover left field in Soderstrom's stead.

Soderstrom went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Angels.
Soderstrom's seventh-inning homer was his first long ball since Aug. 20 in Minnesota. The 23-year-old has remained productive lately, racking up nine RBI during his seven-game hitting streak, which has included three multi-hit efforts. For the season, he's up to 24 homers, 86 RBI, 70 runs scored, eight steals and a .276/.348/.476 slash line across 143 contests.

Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Plates four in win
Soderstrom went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI in Saturday's 17-4 win over the Angels.
Soderstrom set the tone with a three-run double in the first inning and added an additional RBI on a groundout in the sixth. He's hit safely in six straight games, going 8-for-23 (.348) with eight RBI in that span. He continues to see more than just a platoon role in left field, though he cedes some at-bats to Colby Thomas when the Athletics face a left-handed pitcher. Soderstrom is up to a .273/.345/.469 slash line with 23 home runs, 85 RBI, 69 runs scored, 29 doubles and seven stolen bases through 142 contests this season.

Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Receiving rest Wednesday
Soderstrom is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
The Cardinals are sending left-hander Matthew Liberatore to the hill for the series finale, so Athletics manager Mark Kotsay likely decided that Wednesday was an optimal time to give the left-handed-hitting Soderstrom his first day off since Aug. 15. While starting in each of the Athletics' last 16 games, Soderstrom slashed .323/.400/.452 with one home run, one stolen base, nine RBI and seven runs.

Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Drives in three runs
Soderstrom went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Monday's win over the Cardinals.
Soderstrom was a big factor in pushing the Athletics' lead into blowout territory Monday. The 23-year-old has spent most of his defensive time in left field this season but started at first base with Nick Kurtz (oblique) still sidelined. Regardless of where he's positioned, Soderstrom's bat has been a constant, as he's hitting .271/.344/.470 with an .814 OPS, 28 doubles, 23 homers and 81 RBI across 138 games this season.

Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Racks up three hits in win
Soderstrom went 3-for-4 with a double and one run scored in Monday's 8-3 win over the Tigers.
Soderstrom struggled versus Seattle pitching over the weekend, going 1-for-11 with four strikeouts over his previous three games. The 23-year-old put an end to that slump with a multi-hit effort Monday, his seventh such performance in 22 games in August, a month in which he's hitting .364 (28-for-77). Overall, Soderstrom has a .273/.347/.478 slash line with 23 home runs, 26 doubles, 74 RBI, 66 runs scored and seven stolen bases across 132 contests.

Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Snags steal in win
Soderstrom went 0-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base in Saturday's 2-1 extra-inning win over the Mariners.
Soderstrom's 10-game hitting streak came to a close, but it wasn't a totally wasted effort for him. The steal was his first since July 19 versus the Guardians. He's up to seven thefts on nine attempts this season, so don't expect speed to be a huge part of his game down the stretch. Soderstrom has added a strong .271/.347/.477 slash line with 23 home runs, 74 RBI, 65 runs scored, 25 doubles and one triple through 130 contests.
