Hill started the past five contests and will hit the bench Sunday after going 7-for-19 (.368) with no extra-base hits, four RBI and three runs during that span. Grant McCray will take over in left field and bat seventh for the series finale in Queens.

The Giants scored two runs in the 10th inning, the second coming off the bat of Hill on a sacrifice fly that ended up being the game-winning run after the Pirates scored one of their own in the bottom of the frame. Hill has driven in two runs in three of his last five games and is up to 11 RBI with an .856 OPS across 52 plate appearances since making his major-league debut Aug. 15.

Giants' Turner Hill: Contract selected by Giants

The Giants selected Hill's contract from Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday.
It's the first major-league promotion for Hill, who has had an excellent season at Sacramento, posting a .353/.420/.529 batting line with nine home runs, 22 stolen bases and a 37:31 BB:K over 88 contests. The 27-year-old will likely serve as a backup at all three outfield spots.
