  • Guardians' Braylon Doughty: Moves up to Double-A

The Guardians promoted Doughty from High-A Lake County to Double-A Akron on Tuesday. Cleveland will bump Doughty up to Double-A after he submitted a 3.02 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 74:11 K:BB in 59.2 innings with Lake County. As reflected in his minuscule 4.3 percent walk rate, the 20-year-old righty boasts plus control and leans heavily on his curveball to make bats miss.

  • Guardians' Braylon Doughty: Ready for High-A debut

Doughty (shoulder) is scheduled to start Saturday for High-A Lake County in its matchup with West Michigan, SI.com reports. Despite not pitching after Aug. 15 last season at Single-A Lynchburg after being shut down with right shoulder inflammation, Doughty will open the 2026 campaign at the High-A level after coming out of spring training healthy. The 20-year-old righty had been one of Lynchburg's top arms when healthy, turning in a 3.48 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 99:23 K:BB across 85.1 innings.

  • Guardians' Braylon Doughty: Shelved with shoulder issue

Single-A Lynchburg placed Doughty on the 7-day injured list Aug. 23 due to right shoulder inflammation. Doughty logged four scoreless innings in his most recent start Aug. 15 and had been on a bit of a roll, logging a 0.51 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 25:0 K:BB in 17.2 innings over his four most recent starts. The No. 36 overall pick in 2024 out of high school, Doughty had an excellent first pro season. The 6-foot-1 righty amassed a 3.48 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 99 strikeouts in 85.1 innings across 22 starts. It's possible the inflammation will subside over the offseason, but it will be worth monitoring Doughty's status when he reports to spring training in 2026.
