Twins' Trevor Larnach: Back in lineup
Larnach (back) will start in left field and bat fourth Saturday against the Brewers.
Upper-back tightness prevented Larnach from starting Friday's contest, but he'll return to the starting nine following a day of recovery. In eight games since the beginning of May, the 29-year-old outfielder has gone 8-for-30 (.267) with three RBI, two runs scored and a steal.

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Dealing with upper-back tightness
Larnach is out of the lineup Friday against the Brewers due to upper-back tightness, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
It explains why Larnach isn't in the lineup against right-hander Coleman Crow despite Byron Buxton (hip) also missing a second straight game. James Outman and Ryan Kreidler are getting starts in the outfield alongside Austin Martin on Friday.

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Sitting again Friday
Larnach is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers.
Even with Matt Wallner dispatched to the minors and Byron Buxton (hip) out for the second straight contest, Larnach isn't getting the nod against Milwaukee right-hander Coleman Crow. James Outman, Ryan Kreidler and Austin Martin are starting in the outfield for Minnesota. Larnach hasn't homered since April 11 and has just three singles and zero RBI over his last five games.

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Sitting down Wednesday
Larnach isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
Larnach has gone 8-for-30 (.267) with three RBI, two runs scored and a steal since the start of May, but the Twins will hold him out of the starting nine Wednesday. While he sits, Austin Martin, Byron Buxton and Matt Wallner will form Minnesota's outfield trio.

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Pair of hits, stolen base in win
Larnach went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, a run scored, a stolen base and a walk in Monday's 11-4 win over Seattle.
Larnach reached base three times in Monday's offensive outburst, extending his on-base streak to 13 games. The outfielder's strong walk rate has fueled his production, as the 29-year-old is slashing .259/.419/.397 with five extra-base hits, eight RBI, 11 runs and a stolen base through 22 games in 2026.

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Idle for series finale
Larnach is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
The left-handed-hitting Larnach will sit for the second time in the series while the Red Sox send another southpaw (Connelly Early) to the bump for the finale. A career .215/.276/.317 hitter against lefties, Larnach will likely continue to see limited exposure to same-handed pitching throughout the season.

Larnach went 1-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run during the Twins' 7-4 win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Returning to action Friday
Larnach (side) is starting in left field and batting second in Friday's Grapefruit League game against the Blue Jays.
The 29-year-old was scratched Sunday due to left side soreness but is good to go after taking a few days off to recover. Larnach has struggled this spring with a .171/.275/.257 slash line in 40 plate appearances but is expected to open the campaign in the strong side of a platoon between the corner outfield and designated hitter.

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Scratched with left side soreness
Larnach was scratched from the Minnesota lineup ahead of Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Red Sox due to left side soreness, Bobby Nightengale of the Minnesota Star Tribune reports. "As of right now, we don't think [Larnach's injury] is significant enough to get [medical] imaging," manager Derek Shelton said after the game.
Larnach is scheduled to be evaluated again Monday. The outfielder's injury doesn't appear to be anything too serious, but if he's not ready to go for Opening Day, Alan Roden and James Outman would likely both be included on the 26-man active roster to begin the season.

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Reaches pact with Twins
The Twins and Larnach avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $4.475 million contract Thursday, Darren Wolfson of Channel 5 Saint Paul reports.
Larnach finished the 2025 campaign with a .250/.323/.404 batting line and 17 home runs over 567 plate appearances. He'll turn 29 in February and should play regularly at least against right-handed pitching in 2026. Larnach will have one more year of arbitration eligibility next winter but might have to show progress to avoid getting non-tendered.
