Braves' Austin Pope: Signs MiLB deal with Atlanta
Atlanta signed Pope to a minor-league contract Nov. 30.
Pope made his major-league debut in 2025 with one scoreless appearance for the Diamondbacks before electing free agency last month after he was removed from the 40-man roster. The 27-year-old held a 4.60 ERA and 34:10 K:BB across 29.1 frames with Triple-A Reno and will likely begin the 2026 season at Triple-A Gwinnett.

Austin Pope: Opts for free agency
Pope was sent outright to Triple-A Reno and elected free agency Thursday.
Pope was removed from Arizona's 40-man roster Thursday and opted for free agency rather than accept an assignment to Reno. He made his big-league debut with two scoreless frames late in 2025 after posting a 4.71 ERA at Triple-A.
