Guardians' Cooper Ingle: Makes MLB debut
Ingle started at designated hitter and went 0-for-2 with a walk in Friday's 3-1 loss to Seattle.
Ingle had his contract selected from Triple-A Columbus on Friday and made his MLB debut. The Guardians need an offensive infusion and hope Ingle can help turn the tide. Over 51 games at Columbus, he slashed .284/.416/.551 with nine doubles, 12 home runs, 41 RBIs and 41 walks with 50 strikeouts. Ingle came up through the system as a catcher, but the Guardians are expected to work him at other positions, including DH and outfield.

Guardians' Cooper Ingle: Bound for big leagues
The Guardians are expected to call up Ingle from Triple-A Columbus ahead of Friday's game against the Mariners, Roundtable.io reports.
The 24-year-old catching prospect will move up to the big leagues after torching International League pitching to the tune of a .284/.416/.551 slash line with 12 home runs over 221 plate appearances this season. Ingle may not immediately work ahead of Patrick Bailey and Austin Hedges behind the plate, however, as both veterans are regarded as stronger defensive options. Ingle had been getting some exposure to left field recently and could also see time at designated hitter, where the Guardians have gotten limited production from Rhys Hoskins of late. Ingle's blend of contact and on-base skills plus burgeoning power make him worthy of at least a cursory pickup in deeper leagues where he carries eligibility at catcher.

Guardians' Cooper Ingle: Promotion to majors made official
The Guardians selected Ingle's contract from Triple-A Columbus on Friday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
To make room for Ingle on the 26-man and 40-man rosters, the Guardians DFA'd Stuart Fairchild. In his major-league debut Friday against the Mariners, Ingle will bat fifth as the designated hitter. The 24-year-old top prospect has slashed .284/.416/.551 with 12 homers, 41 RBI, 33 runs scored, one stolen base and a 41:50 BB:K across 221 trips to the plate at Triple-A this season. A catcher by trade, Ingle is also expected to get reps in left field with Cleveland.

Guardians' Cooper Ingle: Getting outfield reps
Ingle has recently begun playing left field for Triple-A Columbus to potentially carve out another path to the majors, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
The 24-year-old has been focusing on improving his defensive abilities behind the plate at Triple-A, but recent injuries to Jose Ramirez (hand), Chase DeLauter (ribs) and Angel Martinez (foot) have resulted in some major lineup holes for Cleveland. Ingle has now made seven starts in left field at Columbus and should continue to see time there as the Guardians weigh their options. Ingle has certainly been able to handle Triple-A pitching by posting a .284/.416/.551 slash line and 12 homers through 51 games this season, so a promotion could come soon if he proves to be a serviceable option in left field.

Guardians' Cooper Ingle: Back in action at Triple-A
Ingle (hip) went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Sunday in his return to the Triple-A Columbus lineup after being activated from the 7-day injured list.
Ingle operated as the designated hitter for Columbus in his first game action since April 22, but he should resume catching on a regular basis before long once his right hip injury is further in the rear-view mirror. The 24-year-old had gotten off to an excellent start to the season before landing on the shelf, going 13-for-33 (.394 average) with four home runs, 16 RBI and 14 runs in his first 15 games.

Guardians' Cooper Ingle: Shelved at Triple-A
Triple-A Columbus placed Ingle on the 7-day injured list April 24 with right hip inflammation.
Ingle seemed to be en route to forcing a promotion to the majors, as he was slashing .394/.630/.788 at the time of his injury, while walking 37 percent of the time and striking out at a modest 16.7-percent clip. Assuming Ingle returns in the coming days/weeks, he could supplant Bo Naylor, who has a -0.5 fWAR in 23 games.

Guardians' Cooper Ingle: Bops two homers Sunday
Ingle went 3-for-4 with a walk, two home runs, four RBI and an additional run scored for Triple-A Columbus on Sunday.
Ingle is off to an impressive start for the Clippers, slashing .357/.617/.786 with 18 walks, four home runs and 12 RBI over 47 plate appearances. A .400 BABIP has helped, but Ingle is patient hitter that makes contact, knows how to get on base and rarely strikes out. With just 41 career games at Triple-A, he may not be ready for a promotion, but if Bo Naylor's bat continues to underwhelm (.156/.224/.244), Ingle could make his MLB debut at some point in the near future.

Guardians' Cooper Ingle: Heading to Triple-A
The Guardians promoted Ingle from Double-A Akron to Triple-A Columbus on Sunday.
Ingle, a 23-year-old catching prospect, batted .273 with nine home runs and a 65:70 BB:K over 403 plate appearances with Akron. He'll likely finish out the 2025 season and open the 2026 campaign as Columbus' No. 1 catcher, but Ingle should have a good chance at reaching the majors at some point next summer.

Guardians' Cooper Ingle: Reaches Double-A in first full season
Ingle is slashing .276/.389/.408 with two home runs, four steals and as many walks (14) as strikeouts in 22 games for Double-A Akron.
Ingle, a 22-year-old catcher whom the Guardians selected in the fourth round last year, had a dominant showing at High-A Lake County earlier in the year before getting promoted to Double-A in August. He slashed .313/.433/.500 with nine homers and three steals with more walks than strikeouts in 68 games in the Midwest League. Ingle's eventual power output is to be determined, but at the very least, he seems to have a good hit tool for an upper-level catching prospect.
