  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Taking seat Saturday

Duran isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

The Red Sox will use Saturday as a chance to rest many of their starters after securing a trip to the postseason Friday, which means Duran will retreat to the bench while Masataka Yoshida starts in left field and Rob Refsnyder serves as the DH.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Uses legs to score

Duran went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 6-3 win over Tampa Bay.

After Duran helped win a game Friday with a two-run HR, he used his legs Saturday. He scored the game's first run in the third inning when he singled, stole second, then advanced to third and again to home on wild pitches by Rays starter Adrian Houser. The stolen base was Duran's 24th and the run scored his 84th of the season. Now that he's back in the leadoff spot, Duran could be good source of steals and runs over the final week of the regular season.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Resting Saturday

Duran isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Returns to leadoff against lefty

Duran batted leadoff and went 0-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's 10-5 loss to Arizona.

This was the first time since June 8 that Duran batted leadoff against a left-handed starter. Since then, he was replaced atop the order against lefties and most righties by Roman Anthony (oblique), who landed on the injured list this week. Boston manager Alex Cora told Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com that he felt comfortable using Duran at leadoff against Arizona lefty Eduardo Rodriguez, and that Duran would most likely slip into the top spot in the order against all righties going forward.
