  • Twins' Eduardo Tait: Headed to Minnesota

The Twins acquired Tait and Mick Abel from the Phillies on Wednesday in exchange for Jhoan Duran, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Tait, one of the top prospects in the Phillies' system, started the season with Single-A Clearwater before being promoted to High-A Jersey Shore. He's appeared in just seven games in High-A but has done well at the plate in a short time, going 8-for-27 (.296) with three doubles and six RBI. Tait turns 19 on Aug. 27, and the lefty-hitting catcher will now have the opportunity to work his way up through the Twins' farm system.

  • Phillies' Eduardo Tait: Moving up to High-A

The Phillies will promote Tait from Single-A Clearwater to High-A Jersey Shore this week, Jeff Kerr of CBS Philadelphia reports. The talented catching prospect forced his way to Jersey Shore after batting .251 with 11 home runs, a 9.3 percent walk rate and a 19.3 percent strikeout rate over 332 plate appearances with Clearwater. Tait will be one of the youngest players in the South Atlantic League; he won't turn 19 years old until Aug. 27.

  • Phillies' Eduardo Tait: Flourishing despite youth

Tait is slashing .272/.313/.466 with five home runs in 27 games since getting promoted to Single-A Clearwater. Tait's numbers are fantastic, but they are even more impressive when factoring in his age -- he turned 18 on Aug. 27. The lefty-hitting backstop slashed .321/.377/.500 with six homers and five steals in the Florida Complex League before getting promoted, and he has a chance to shoot up prospect lists, especially real-life rankings, in the coming years.
