Though he's no longer part of the Blue Jays' 40-man roster, Martin will stay in the organization after clearing waiver. Martin has slashed .280/.408/.415 between the Double- and Triple-A levels this season and is still looking to make his major-league debut.

Toronto needed the 40-man roster spot to promote newcomer Brett Bateman to the big leagues. Martin has spent time with the Royals, Orioles and Blue Jays' organizations this season and owns a .280/.408/.415 slash line with eight homers, 32 RBI, 52 runs scored, 39 stolen bases and a 47:71 BB:K across 294 plate appearances at Double-A and Triple-A.

The Blue Jays claimed Martin off waivers from the Orioles on Thursday, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports.
Martin was traded from the Royals to the Orioles last week and is now on the move again without having played in any games in the Baltimore organization. The 30-year-old outfielder has slashed .284/.414/.441 with eight home runs and 33 stolen bases between the Double-A and Triple-A levels this season. Martin will presumably report to Triple-A Buffalo.

The Orioles acquired Martin from the Royals on Friday and selected him to the 40-man roster, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports.
Martin triggered the upward mobility clause in his minor-league deal with Kansas City on Wednesday, allowing the other 29 teams to add him to their 40-man roster. The Orioles took advantage of the opportunity and will now bring in a 30-year-old outfielder who has slashed .293/.417/.462 with nine homers, 30 RBI, 51 runs and 36 steals between Double-A and Triple-A this season. Martin will begin his tenure with the O's at Triple-A Norfolk.
