  • Marlins' Dillon Head: Back from wrist injury

Head (wrist) was activated from the 7-day injured list Wednesday.

Head was placed on the injured list April 11 after picking up a wrist injury, but he's managed to put the issue behind him. He's 2-for-11 with a double in three games with High-A Beloit since being activated.

  • Marlins' Dillon Head: Out with wrist injury

Head was placed on High-A Beloit's 7-day injured list after suffering a wrist injury April 11, FishOnFirst.com reports.

The Marlins were initially hoping Head would avoid a stint on the IL, but he hasn't played in three weeks. The outfielder was off to a poor start to the season with Beloit, going 1-for-20 with a 2:4 BB:K over his first six games.

  • Marlins' Dillon Head: Ready to go for 2025

Head (hip) is listed on Miami's roster for its March 14 Spring Breakout game against St. Louis prospects.

Head's 2024 season was cut short after he underwent left hip femoral acetabular impingement surgery last June, but he looks like he'll be good to go heading into the 2025 campaign. After being acquired from the Padres last May as part of the prospect package the Marlins received in exchange for infielder Luis Arraez, Head appeared in just three games for Single-A Jupiter before being shut down with the injury.

  • Marlins' Dillon Head: Needs season-ending hip surgery

Head will undergo season-ending left hip femoral acetabular impingement surgery Friday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Head's season ends after just 26 games, with only five of them coming in the Marlins organization after he was acquired from the Padres in the May 3 trade that sent infielder Luis Arraez to San Diego. The 19-year-old outfielder is expected to have a normal offseason and be fully ready for the start of spring training.

  • Marlins' Dillon Head: Goes on Single-A IL

Single-A Jupiter placed Head (adductor) on its 7-day injured list May 20.

After being acquired from the Padres on May 3, Head was held out of game action for more than a week due to an adductor strain before making his Jupiter debut May 14. However, Head played just three games with the affiliate before suffering an apparent setback and landing on the shelf. The 19-year-old outfielder is without a clear timeline to return to action for Jupiter.

  • Marlins' Dillon Head: Dealing with adductor strain

Head is rehabbing an adductor strain and has yet to report to an affiliate since the Marlins acquired him from the Padres on May 3, Alex Krutchik of FishonFirst.com reports.

Before being dealt to Miami as part of the return package for infielder Luis Arraez, Head slashed .237/.317/.366 with two triples, one home run and nine RBI over 104 plate appearances with Single-A Lake Elsinore. The 19-year-old outfielder is working out at the Marlins' spring training complex in Jupiter, Fla. and is considered day-to-day as he works through the adductor strain, though it's unclear when he might be ready to debut for his new organization.

  • Marlins' Dillon Head: Traded to Marlins

The Padres traded Head to the Marlins on Friday alongside Woo-suk Go, Jakob Marsee and Nathan Martorella in exchange for Luis Arraez, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Head has slashed .237/.317/.366 with nine RBI across 104 plate appearances this year at Single-A. The 19-year-old outfielder still has a long way to go before he's ready for his big-league debut, but with the Marlins seemingly entering a rebuild, the front office may take a more aggressive approach with Head and push him through their farm system as fast as possible.
