  • Nationals' Jordy Barley: Headed to the Nationals

Barley will be traded from the Padres to the Nationals on Thursday along with Mason Thompson in exchange for Daniel Hudson (COVID-19), Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Barley received a significant $1 million signing bonus from the Padres in 2016. Now 21-years-old, Barley has not progressed past Low-A and has only a 91 wRC+ at the level this season. He may not hit enough to ever gain consistent playing time in the majors, but he does have a strong glove and has also swiped 33 bases in 61 games on the campaign.
