  • Guardians' Franco Aleman: Back in big-league bullpen

The Guardians recalled Aleman from Triple-A Columbus on Friday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports. Aleman has been dominant at Columbus this season, authoring a 0.32 ERA and 43:7 K:BB over 28.1 innings. The big righty gave up one run over two outings covering 2.2 frames earlier this season with the big club. Aleman has the upside to be used in high-leverage situations, but the Guardians will likely deploy him in middle relief for now.

  • Guardians' Franco Aleman: Sent down to minors

The Guardians optioned Aleman to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday. Aleman recorded 2.2 innings of work for Cleveland in his first taste of the majors after being called up last week. In his most recent appearance, the 25-year-old went just two-thirds of an inning, allowing a solo home run and a walk. Codi Heuer was recalled to Cleveland as the corresponding move for the right-hander.

  • Guardians' Franco Aleman: Recalled from Triple-A

The Guardians recalled Aleman from Triple-A Columbus on Friday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports. Aleman has gotten off to a dominant start at Columbus this season, allowing just one unearned run with an 18:4 K:BB over 12 innings of relief. The 25-year-old will operate in middle relief and will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game.

  • Guardians' Franco Aleman: Sent to minors

The Guardians optioned Aleman to Triple-A Columbus on Sunday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Aleman struggled to a 7.85 ERA over 36.2 innings at Columbus last season, so it's hardly a surprise he'll return there to begin 2026. The 25-year-old has yet to make his MLB debut and will need significantly better results to have a chance of changing that this year.

  • Guardians' Franco Aleman: Optioned to Triple-A

The Guardians optioned Aleman (abdomen) to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday. Aleman is working his way back from hernia surgery and will start the 2025 campaign in Triple-A once he's fully recovered from the procedure. He could see time in the majors at some point this season should the Guardians need a right-handed option out of the bullpen. Aleman appeared in 24 games at Triple-A during the 2024 regular season and posted a 1.99 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 34:10 K:BB and two saves across 22.2 innings.

  • Guardians' Franco Aleman: Undergoes hernia surgery

Aleman underwent a left hip inguinal hernia repair Wednesday and will be sidelined 4-to-6 weeks. Aleman was added to the 40-man roster this offseason but had always been likely to begin the season at Triple-A Columbus. He'll be assigned to Columbus once he's fully recovered, though an initial rehab assignment at a lower-level affiliate is possible. Aleman could be an option for the Guardians bullpen at some point this season.

  • Guardians' Franco Aleman: May require surgery

Aleman had an appointment Tuesday to evaluate what may be an inguinal hernia. Aleman hasn't yet received an official diagnosis, but a hernia and the ensuing procedure to address it would sideline him for an extended period of time and all but eliminate his chances at making the Guardians' Opening Day roster. The 24-year-old righty posted a 1.99 ERA and 1.08 WHIP at Triple-A Columbus last season, but he was limited to just 24 appearances after a lat injury kept him out for three months. He's likely to spend more time in the minors once healthy, though he's a candidate to be called up at some point this summer.

  • Guardians' Franco Aleman: Comes off IL

Triple-A Columbus reinstated Aleman (lat) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday. Aleman hasn't pitched for Columbus since May 8 while recovering from a right lat strain and didn't go out on a rehab assignment prior to being activated, so the Guardians could be judicious with his usage coming off the injury. The right-hander had been a dominant relief arm for Columbus before landing on the shelf, logging a 3.38 ERA and a 24:7 K:BB across 13.1 innings over 13 appearances.
