Aleman is working his way back from hernia surgery and will start the 2025 campaign in Triple-A once he's fully recovered from the procedure. Aleman hasn't pitched for Columbus since May 8 while recovering from a right lat strain and didn't go out on a rehab assignment prior to being activated, so the Guardians could be judicious with his usage coming off the injury. The right-hander had been a dominant relief arm for Columbus before landing on the shelf, logging a 3.38 ERA and a 24:7 K:BB across 13.1 innings over 13 appearances.
