Single-A Fayetteville reinstated Santa (undisclosed) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday.
Santa made his season debut for Fayetteville on Wednesday, striking out three over two perfect innings. The 21-year-old right-hander struck out 119 batters over 87.1 innings at the Single-A level in 2023, but a bloated 17.9 percent walk rate limited his overall effectiveness.

Astros' Alimber Santa: Cleared for mound work
Santa (undisclosed) was spotted throwing off a mound in mid-January, Kenny Van Doren of the Astros Future Podcast reports.
Santa was forced to miss the majority of the 2022 campaign while dealing with an undisclosed injury, but it appears he's back on track after having time to get healthy over the offseason. The young hurler figures to begin the 2023 season with either Single-A Fayetteville or High-A Asheville.
