Mets' Eric Wagaman: Outrighted to Triple-A
The Mets outrighted Wagaman to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.
Wagaman was designated for assignment by the Mets last weekend and will remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 28-year-old has played in 20 Triple-A games between the Mets and Twins organizations this season and has a combined .191/.317/.294 slash line.

Mets' Eric Wagaman: Loses 40-man spot
The Mets designated Wagaman for assignment Sunday.
Wagaman's stay on the Mets' 40-man roster lasted just under a week, after New York claimed him off waivers from Minnesota on Monday. The 28-year-old corner infielder will be subject to the waiver process again, and if he goes unclaimed this time around, he'll have the ability to reject an outright assignment to Triple-A Syracuse and elect free agency.

Mets' Eric Wagaman: Returns to Triple-A
The Mets optioned Wagaman to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.
The 28-year-old was called up from Syracuse on Thursday and will return there a day later with Andy Ibanez joining the active roster. Wagaman didn't see the field during his day in the majors and is now back at Triple-A, where he has a .538 OPS in 74 plate appearances this year.

Mets' Eric Wagaman: Recalled from Triple-A
The Mets recalled Wagaman from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.
Wagaman was claimed off waivers earlier this week and is now back in the majors after a brief stint at Syracuse. He could see some action against left-handed pitching, but Wagaman figures to operate mostly as a reserve.

Mets' Eric Wagaman: Scooped on waivers by Mets
The Mets claimed Wagaman off waivers from the Twins on Monday.
Wagaman had been designated for assignment by the Twins last week after hitting only .159/.284/.254 early on at Triple-A St. Paul. The 28-year-old has been assigned to Triple-A Syracuse, where he will give the Mets right-handed hitting depth in the corner infield and outfield spots.

Twins' Eric Wagaman: DFA'd by Minnesota
The Twins designated Wagaman for assignment Thursday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of waiver claim Christian Roa. Wagaman came up short in his bid for an Opening Day roster spot for the Twins and has hit only .159/.284/.254 early on at Triple-A St. Paul.

Twins' Eric Wagaman: Fails to make Opening Day roster
The Twins optioned Wagaman to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Wagaman slashed .256/.341/.333 with one home run and a 5:13 BB:K this spring for the Twins. With Ryan Kreidler also sent to St. Paul, Tristan Gray appears to have captured the final spot on the Twins' bench.

Twins' Eric Wagaman: Traded to Minnesota
The Twins acquired Wagaman from the Marlins on Friday in exchange for Kade Bragg.
Wagaman had been designated for assignment earlier this week and is now on the move to a new club. The 28-year-old slashed .250/.296/.378 with nine home runs across 140 games for the Marlins this season and is capable of handling the corner infield and outfield spots. Wagaman sported a .283/.321/.462 batting line against lefties in 2025, so much of his playing time in Minnesota could come versus southpaws.

Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Loses 40-man roster spot
Wagaman was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Monday, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Wagaman is the roster casualty following the addition of Esteury Ruiz from the Dodgers. Wagaman slashed .250/.296/.378 with nine home runs and four steals in 514 plate appearances for the Marlins in 2025. He has some intriguing offensive traits, including strong bat speed and solid swing decisions, but Wagaman's lack of notable power (.128 ISO) in his age-27 season while playing at the bottom of the defensive spectrum made him expendable.

Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Taking seat Sunday
Wagaman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.
After seeing his seven-game hitting streak end with an 0-for-3 showing in Saturday's 4-3 win, Wagaman will hit the bench Sunday. The 28-year-old should continue to play regularly against left-handed pitching during the final week of the season, though he may have to settle for a part-time role against right-handed pitching after the Marlins recently welcomed back fellow infielders Connor Norby and Graham Pauley from the 10-day injured list.

Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Drives in three runs Thursday
Wagaman went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored during the Marlins' 5-0 win over the Nationals on Thursday.
Thursday marked Wagaman's 12th multi-RBI game of the season and the third time that he has driven in three runs. The 28-year-old has logged at least one hit in six of his last seven games and has gone 8-for-21 (.381) with five RBI over that span.

Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Not playing against righties
Wagaman is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.
The Marlins are leaving Wagaman out of the lineup for the fourth straight matchup with a right-handed starting pitcher (Cade Cavalli). The right-handed-hitting Wagaman should remain a fixture in the starting nine versus lefties, as he's produced a .761 OPS in 163 plate appearances against them this season.

Marlins' Eric Wagaman: On bench against righty
Wagaman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.
Wagaman has heated up in August with an .868 OPS over 23 games, but he's seen only 74 plate appearances on the month and is still stuck in a part-time role. He'll hit the bench for the second time in the Marlins' last three matchups against right-handers, but Wagaman should have a regular spot in the lineup versus left-handed pitching.

Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Pops ninth homer
Wagaman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Sunday's win over the Blue Jays.
The infielder took Kevin Gausman deep in the third inning, giving Wagaman nine long balls on the season. He isn't getting consistent playing time, but Wagaman's taking advantage of his opportunities in August, slashing .250/.345/.583 over 55 plate appearances with half of his 12 hits (two triples and four homers) going for extra bases.

Wagaman went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in Monday's loss to the Cardinals.
Getting the start at first base against Matthew Liberatore and batting sixth, Wagaman took the St. Louis southpaw deep in the fourth inning. Wagaman has hit safely in four straight games and homered in back-to-back contests, giving him eight long balls on the year in 417 plate appearances to go with a tepid .236/.285/.369 slash line, and the bulk of his playing time for the remainder of the season will likely come in a short-side platoon role.

Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Lifts seventh homer
Wagaman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Sunday's 5-3 win over Boston.
Wagaman has seen his playing time trend downward as he continues to struggle at the plate. Sunday's contest marked his first multi-hit performance since July 2, a stretch in which he went 15-for-88 (.170) with a homer, two doubles and two triples. Wagaman has been in the starting nine in two of Miami's last five games, as Troy Johnston and Liam Hicks have been seeing some work at first base.

Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Losing starts to Troy Johnston
Wagaman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
Wagaman is on the bench against a right-handed starter (Miles Mikolas) for the second day in a row and for the third time in the last four games. Dating back to the start of July, Wagaman has contributed a lowly .431 OPS in 20 games, and his poor stretch of production appears to have cost him his role as the Marlins' everyday first baseman. The right-handed-hitting Wagaman could have to settle for the short side of a platoon at first base with the lefty-hitting Troy Johnston, who will get a second straight start following his promotion from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.

Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Heading to bench Sunday
Wagaman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.
After starting the first two games of the series, Wagaman will give way to Liam Hicks at first base. Wagaman is slashing just .118/.211/.137 since the beginning of July, and his playing time could dwindle as a result.

Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Sitting amid struggles
Wagaman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.
Since the beginning of July, Wagaman is slashing just .119/.229/.143 with one extra-base hit (a double) in 13 games, and his ongoing struggles appear to be costing him some playing time. He'll take a seat for the second time in the series as Liam Hicks replaces him at first base.
