The Mets selected Seelinger's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.
The right-hander was acquired from the Tigers in exchange for cash considerations Monday, and the Mets will quickly add him to the big-league roster. Seelinger has a 3.89 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 49:19 K:BB across 39.1 innings at the Triple-A level this year and should fill a low-leverage relief role for New York.

The Mets acquired Seelinger from the Tigers on Monday in exchange for cash consideration, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Seelinger has turned in a 3.89 ERA and 49:19 K:BB over 39.1 innings this season at Triple-A Toledo. The 31-year-old reliever has not yet pitched at the major-league level but has consistently piled up lots of strikeouts in the minors, boasting a career 31.8 percent strikeout rate on the farm.
