Angels' Gustavo Campero: Facing extended absence
Campero was diagnosed with a high left ankle sprain Wednesday and is expected to miss a significant amount of time, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
It's unclear if Campero's injury will force him to miss the rest of the season, but the Angels likely won't be in a hurry to rush him back given their unfavorable position in the race for a postseason spot. With the 27-year-old out, Taylor Ward, Bryce Teodosio and Jo Adell will presumably work as the Angels' primary outfield trio until Jorge Soler (back) returns from the IL.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Placed on IL
The Angels placed Campero on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a sprained left ankle.
Campero had to be carted off the field Monday after injuring his ankle crashing into the outfield wall while chasing a ball that went over the fence. It remains unclear whether he'll be able to return from the IL when eligible Aug. 22. In the meantime, the Angels will add Niko Kavadas to their bench from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Suffers leg injury
Campero was carted off the field after suffering a left leg injury during Monday's game against the Dodgers, Jack Janes of TheSportingTribune.com reports.
Campero made an attempt to catch a ball that sailed over the fence and crashed hard into the outfield wall. He was unable to walk off under his own power. The severity of Campero's injury is unclear at this time.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Losing out on starts to Teodosio
Campero is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
After a stretch of six consecutive starts during which he went 4-for-17 with a home run and three stolen bases, Campero will now head to the bench for the fourth contest in a row. The Angels still have an opening in their everyday outfield while Jorge Soler (back) is on the shelf, but interim manager Ray Montgomery has been prioritizing Bryce Teodosio ahead of Campero, largely due to the superior defense that Teodosio provides in center field.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: On bench after six straight starts
Campero is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
Campero will head to the bench after he had started in right field in each of the last six games while going 4-for-17 with a home run, three stolen bases and four RBI. With Mike Trout (illness) back in the lineup after a two-game absence and occupying the designated-hitter spot, the Angels won't have room in the starting nine for Campero while Taylor Ward, Bryce Teodosio and Jo Adell make up the Los Angeles outfield from left to right.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Hits homer in loss
Campero went 1-for-2 with a walk and a two-run home run during Friday's 6-3 loss to the White Sox.
Campero has had a tough season, starting out with just four hits in his first 19 games, but his bat has started showing signs of life lately. The 27-year-old has four hits and four RBI in his last four games and has brought his OPS up to .622 in his second MLB season.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Swipes two bags Monday
Campero went 2-for-3 with a run and two stolen bases in a 6-4 victory versus the Rangers on Monday.
Campero got the start in right field and was productive near the bottom of the order, notching his first multi-hit game of the season. The 27-year-old also flashed his speed with a pair of thefts, both of which came in the sixth inning. Campero was promoted from Triple-A on Saturday and has started each of the Angels' past two contests, so he could be in line for semi-frequent work in the outfield while Jorge Soler (back) is on the injured list.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Recalled from Triple-A
The Angels recalled Campero from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.
With Jorge Soler (back) headed to the injured list, the Angels will turn to Campero to provide the team with some help in the outfield. LaMonte Wade is likely to start most days in right field until Soler returns, though Campero could pick up some at-bats against left-handers while in Anaheim.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Sent down to minors
The Angels optioned Campero to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.
Campero's most recent stint with the big club lasted a month, but he played sparingly with only six starts over that time. He's clearing out to make room on the active roster for Chris Taylor's (hand) return from the 10-day injured list.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Homers off bench in win
Campero hit a solo home run in his lone at-bat in Saturday's 8-2 win over the Nationals.
Campero has been up with the big club since June 20, covering for the absence of Jorge Soler (back), but LaMonte Wade has claimed a strong-side platoon role in right field. Campero made his impact off the bench Saturday, going deep in the eighth inning for his first homer of the season and the second of his young career. He's batting .222 (4-for-18) with a stolen base and a 2:4 BB:K across 20 plate appearances this season. Soler took batting practice Saturday and could be closing in on a return, and it seems likely Campero would be sent back down to Triple-A Salt Lake to get more consistent playing time once Soler is activated.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Recalled from Salt Lake
The Angels recalled Campero from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.
With Jorge Soler (back) moving to the injured list, the Angels will turn to Campero to replenish their outfield depth. The 27-year-old has gone just 2-for-10 in five MLB games this season, though he's slashing .320/.389/.477 across 145 plate appearances in Triple-A.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Activated and sent to Triple-A
The Angels activated Campero (ankle) from the 10-day injured list Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Salt Lake City.
Campero has been on the shelf since he tweaked his left ankle May 6. However, he's been reinstated from the injured list after a brief rehab assignment. The 27-year-old will yield his spot on the active roster while going back down to Salt Lake City, where he's slashing .339/.400/.509 in 126 plate appearances this season.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Rehabbing in rookie ball
Campero (ankle) began a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League on Thursday.
Campero has been on the injured list for nearly a month due to inflammation in his left ankle. Now that he's been cleared to return to a competitive setting, it shouldn't be too long before he's activated off the IL. However, since the 27-year-old went down with an injury, the Angels have recalled Matthew Lugo and returned Mike Trout from the IL, so Campero may not have a path to playing time with the big club once he's healthy.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Begins running on treadmill
Campero (ankle) progressed to running on a treadmill Saturday, per MLB.com.
Campero twisted his ankle during an at-bat May 6 and subsequently landed on the 10-day IL. He's been out long enough to be eligible to be reinstated, but it's unclear how much longer the outfielder will need to recover. Campero went 2-for-10 with a stolen base for the Angels prior to the injury, and he could see playing time harder to come by upon his return due to Matthew Lugo, who was called up following Campero's injury, thriving to the tune of an .880 OPS so far with the big club.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Lands on IL with ankle injury
The Angles placed Campero on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to May 7, due to left ankle inflammation.
Campero injured his ankle during a plate appearance against the Blue Jays on Tuesday, and the injury is severe enough to warrant a stint on the 10-day IL. The Angels recalled Matthew Lugo from Triple-A Salt Lake to provide depth in the outfield for as long as Campero is sidelined.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Exits with ankle injury
Campero was removed from Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays due to left ankle irritation.
Campero seemed to twist his ankle while hitting a flyout to right field in the fifth inning. His short-term availability remains unknown, but it's possible the Angels keep him on the bench for a day or two to ensure he doesn't aggravate his injury.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Recalled from Triple-A
The Angels recalled Campero from Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.
Campero got his first taste of MLB action at the end of last season, going 11-for-46 with six RBI over 13 games. He's gotten off to a better start in the minors this year with a .333/.397/.472 slash line alongside 15 RBI, 16 runs scored and seven steals. The 27-year-old will now come up to give the Angels some additional outfield depth, replacing J.D. Davis on the active roster.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Sent to Salt Lake
The Angels optioned Campero to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.
Campero put together a solid spring, going 6-for-18 with two RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base over 12 games. However, the 27-year-old slashed just .239/.271/.348 across 48 plate appearances with the Angels last year, so he'll return to Triple-A to continue developing at the plate.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Nabs third steal
Campero went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Rangers.
The 27-year-old switch hitter swiped his third bag in 11 games since his late-season promotion, a stretch in which he's also batting .260 (10-for-38) with three RBI and five runs. Campero didn't come into the season with much of a prospect profile, but after slashing .279/.392/.472 in 107 games between Double-A Rocket City and Triple-A Salt Lake this year and then holding his own in a big-league cameo, he may have a spot in the Angels' outfield plans for 2025.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Filling in for injured Adams
Campero will start in right field and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
He'll occupy right field for the eighth time in nine games, with injuries to Mickey Moniak and Jordyn Adams (knee) paving the way for Campero to pick up at-bats following his Sept. 15 call-up from Triple-A Salt Lake. Moniak has since returned to action, but Adams will miss out on a fifth straight start while he tends to the knee injury. Campero has opened his big-league career by going 8-for-28 (.286 average) with two stolen bases, three RBI and three runs through his first eight contests.
