Orioles' Felix Bautista: Shifted to 60-day injured list
The Orioles transferred Bautista (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list Friday.
The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster. Bautista will be sidelined until at least late next season following surgery earlier this week to repair a torn labrum and torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder.

Orioles' Felix Bautista: Undergoes shoulder surgery
Bautista underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a torn labrum and torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder, and he is expected to be sidelined at least 12 months, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
The Orioles had previously ruled Bautista out for the season with what they referred to as a significant shoulder injury, but the reliever requiring both a labrum and rotator cuff repair is about the worst-case scenario. While the club seems to be leaving open the possibility that Bautista could return late in the 2026 season, it's likelier he's out until the 2027 campaign. Additionally, with the nature of the operation, there's a chance Bautista is never an effective pitcher again. The 30-year-old will be eligible for salary arbitration in 2026 and 2027.

Orioles' Felix Bautista: Won't return in 2025
Interim manager Tony Mansolino announced Tuesday that Bautista (shoulder) will miss the rest of the 2025 season, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.
The right-hander was diagnosed with swelling in his shoulder after landing on the injured list in late July, which is significant enough to sideline him for the rest of the campaign. Bautista is without an official timeline for his return, but that could come into focus once he's further evaluated later this week. Keegan Akin has received the first look as Baltimore's new closer, going 2-for-3 in save chances since Bautista went down.

Orioles' Felix Bautista: Facing extended absence
Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino said Monday that Bautista is going to be "out a while" after an MRI showed significant swelling in the pitcher's right shoulder, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
The silver lining is that Bautista does not have any structural damage. However, with the amount of inflammation in his shoulder, he's looking at an absence that will last weeks, not days. With the Orioles not in playoff contention, it's fair to wonder how much of a contribution, if any, he will make the rest of this season. Seranthony Dominguez is the current favorite to see the bulk of the save chances for Baltimore down the stretch, though he is a possibility to be traded.

Orioles' Felix Bautista: Out with shoulder discomfort
The Orioles placed Bautista on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right shoulder discomfort.
Bautista was unavailable to pitch during Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Cleveland due to an undisclosed injury, and the Orioles have now revealed that the closer's shoulder is bothering him. Per interim manager Tony Mansolino, Bautista will undergo an MRI on Friday to determine the severity of the injury, according to Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com. Bautista's name has come up in trade rumors, but the injury likely means he's staying put ahead of the July 31 deadline. Seranthony Dominguez is the favorite to receive the bulk of the save chances for Baltimore while Bautista is shelved, although Mansolino indicated Thursday that he'll play matchups late in games, Brendan Mortensen of MASNSports.com reports.

Orioles' Felix Bautista: Unavailable due to injury
Bautista was unavailable to pitch in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Guardians due to an undisclosed injury, Henry Palattella of MLB.com reports.
Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino said after the game that Bautista "played catch fully today and looked great," but the reliever sent a message to the dugout in the seventh inning that he was unavailable. It's not clear at this point why Bautista wasn't ready to pitch, but Mansolino said that he expected to have more information on Bautista's status Thursday. If Bautista is forced to miss time, Seranthony Dominguez would likely be next in line for saves, with Andrew Kittredge, Gregory Soto and Yennier Cano also potentially in the mix.

Orioles' Felix Bautista: Hangs on for 19th save
Bautista earned the save in Sunday's 5-3 win over Tampa Bay, allowing a run on one hit and three walks in the ninth inning. He struck out two.
Bautista appeared to be rusty in his first appearance since the All-Star break. While he managed to strike out Junior Caminero to leave the bases loaded, Bautista needed 34 pitches, just 18 of which were strikes, to get through the ninth inning. The right-hander was dominant heading into the break, allowing just one run while striking out 27 in his previous 16 innings. Overall, Bautista is 19-for-20 in save chances this year while posting a 2.60 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP and 50:23 K:BB over 34.2 innings.
