Caleb Frare: Released by White Sox
Frare was released by the White Sox on Friday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Frare struggled at Triple-A Charlotte last season, logging a 7.66 ERA and 1.86 WHIP over 22.1 innings with the club. After being released in the offseason, the southpaw returned to the team as a non-roster invitee, but he gave up seven earned runs over 3.1 innings this spring.

White Sox's Caleb Frare: Brought back on minors deal
Frare returned to the White Sox on a minor-league deal Tuesday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Frare was not tendered a contract ahead of Monday's non-tender deadline, but he'll remain in the White Sox's organization. He threw just 2.2 big-league innings last season and looked quite poor in 22.1 frames for Triple-A Charlotte, finishing with a 7.66 ERA. He'll be invited to Chicago's major-league camp this spring.

Caleb Frare: Not tendered contract
Frare will not be given a contract ahead of Monday's non-tender deadline, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Frare threw just 2.2 innings at the big-league level last season, allowing three runs. The lefty posted a poor 7.66 ERA in 22.1 innings for Triple-A Charlotte.

White Sox's Caleb Frare: Healthy, active with Charlotte
Frare has allowed two earned runs on two hits and one walk while striking out seven through three June appearances (3.1 innings) with Triple-A Charlotte.
An undisclosed injury cost Frare the final two weeks of May, but he's now back and the K numbers since his return suggest there have been no lingering effects. Frare was not chosen to replace fellow southpaw Jace Fry (shoulder) on the big-league roster, but Frare remains on the White Sox's 40-man roster and could get the call at some point this summer if the team decides it needs another situational lefty in the bullpen.

White Sox's Caleb Frare: Lands on 7-day IL
Triple-A Charlotte placed Frare on the 7-day injured list Sunday due to an unspecified issue, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Frare pitched a scoreless inning in relief for Charlotte on Friday and presumably picked up the injury during that appearance. He'll be shut down for at least a week, delaying any potential return to the big club.

White Sox's Caleb Frare: Heads back to minors
Frare was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte following Sunday's game against the Red Sox. He allowed a run and issued a walk to the lone batter he faced.
The 25-year-old lefty was called upon in the eighth inning with the bases loaded, but he handed out a free pass to the only batter he faced, and Xander Bogaerts would clear the bases with a grand slam later in the frame. Frare now owns a 10.13 ERA with three punchouts over 2.2 innings this season in the big leagues and will head back down to the minors following this latest roster move.

White Sox's Caleb Frare: Called up to bigs
Frare was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.
The White Sox will add Frare and Juan Minaya to the bullpen to replace Carson Fulmer and Jose Ruiz, who were both optioned to Charlotte following Saturday's 15-2 loss to the Red Sox. It's the second big-league stint of the season for Frare, who previously made four appearances and gave up two runs in 2.2 innings.

White Sox's Caleb Frare: Joins Opening Day bullpen
Frare has been named to the White Sox's Opening Day roster, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Manager Rick Renteria set the team's bullpen for Opening Day, and Frare was one of eight relievers the White Sox will carry to start the season. The 25-year-old left-hander, who made his major-league debut in 2018 as a September callup, will take up a spot in middle relief. He had a 7.88 ERA over eight spring innings.

White Sox's Caleb Frare: Contract selected by White Sox
Frare had his contract purchased by the White Sox on Saturday.
Frare spent the bulk of the season at Double-A Trenton with the Yankees -- where he dominated with a 0.62 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 57:15 K:BB over 43.2 innings -- before being acquired by the White Sox. The 25-year-old similarly allowed only one run across 12.2 innings with Triple-A Charlotte and now will join the White Sox bullpen for the final month of the season.
