He also hit .191 in that span with just three RBI and four runs scored. Even with that downturn in recent production, Montgomery has a 126 wRC+ on the season with 35 RBI and 27 runs scored across 56 games.

Montgomery went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Twins.

Even given that hot stretch, Montgomery is hitting only .209 with a 35.4 percent strikeout rate across his last 11 games.

White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Sitting out versus southpaw
Montgomery is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.
The lefty-swinging Montgomery was in the lineup the last five times the White Sox went up against a traditional lefty hurler, but he'll take a seat in Thursday's series finale as the Royals send southpaw Kris Bubic to the bump. Luisangel Acuna is grabbing a start at shortstop while Montgomery rests.

The 24-year-old shortstop is slashing .230/.331/.500 with one steal, 29 RBI and 20 runs scored across 175 plate appearances this season.

White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Goes deep against Soriano in win
Montgomery went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Angels.
Groundout machine Jose Soriano had allowed just one home run all season coming into Tuesday's contest, but Montgomery took him deep on a knuckle curve to lead off the bottom of the second inning. It snapped a five-game homerless drought for Montgomery, who had hit a big fly in each of the four contests prior to his recent mini outage. The lefty-hitting infielder is now slashing .236/.341/.509 with eight homers, 20 RBI, 13 runs scored, one stolen base and a 10:37 BB:K across 123 trips to the plate.

Montgomery went 0-for-3 with two runs scored Saturday against the Nationals.

He was hit by a pitch in the eighth inning and came around to score, and he was once again driven in after beginning the 10th inning as the designated runner. White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Goes yard again
Montgomery went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and a second RBI in Wednesday's 11-7 loss to the Diamondbacks.
This was Montgomery's fourth straight game with a homer, though he doesn't even have the longest active streak on the team, as Munetaka Murakami has gone deep in five straight contests. While Montgomery is connecting with power lately, he also has eight strikeouts over his last five games. He's batting .212 with an .834 OPS, seven homers, 18 RBI, 10 runs scored, five doubles and a stolen base across 24 contests this season. The power is real, but Montgomery's high strikeout rate (32.7 percent) will leave him prone to slumps when he's not making strong contact.

White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Continues power surge
Montgomery went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, three total RBI and two total runs against Arizona in an 11-5 win Tuesday.
Montgomery put the first Chicago runs on the board with a two-run double in the first inning. One frame later, he belted a 440-foot solo blast for the third of back-to-back-to-back White Sox homers. Montgomery has homered in three consecutive games after going deep three times across his first 20 contests of the season. He's still striking out a ton (32.3 percent) and is batting just .213, but his power is helping him maintain relevancy in most fantasy formats.
