  • Orioles' Colton Cowser: Reaches thrice in win

Cowser went 1-for-3 with an RBI double and a stolen base during Tuesday's 4-3 extra-innings win over the Red Sox.

Cowser had to shake off a bit of rust after returning from the 7-day concussion IL on Sunday, going 1-for-10 with four strikeouts in his first two games back. He reached safely three times Tuesday, notching a double and a pair of walks with no strikeouts. The outfielder is striking out at a career-worst 31.7 percent clip in 2025, and he's slashing .210/.278/.390 with nine homers and seven stolen bases across 230 plate appearances.

  • Orioles' Colton Cowser: Making return from concussion

The Orioles reinstated Cowser (concussion) from the 7-day injured list Sunday.

Baltimore optioned Daniel Johnson to Triple-A Norfolk to clear room for Cowser, who missed about a week and a half while recovering from a concussion. Prior to being shelved, the 25-year-old slashed .213/.279/.401 with nine home runs and six stolen bases over 215 plate appearances on the season. Cowser should immediately settle back into an everyday role in the Baltimore outfield.

  • Orioles' Colton Cowser: Will not return when first eligible

Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino said Wednesday that Cowser (concussion) will not be activated from the 7-day injured list when first eligible Thursday, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Cowser is still going through the concussion protocol and cannot be activated until he's cleared. Mansolino indicated that Cowser might not be far off from returning, but there's always an element of uncertainty with concussions.

  • Orioles' Colton Cowser: Dealing with concussion

The Orioles placed Cowser on the 7-day concussion injured list Friday, retroactive to Aug. 7, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Cowser will be sidelined for at least a week after sustaining a concussion. Fellow outfielder Tyler O'Neill (wrist) was also placed on the injured list Friday, leaving the Orioles' outfield thin. Jordyn Adams was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk in a corresponding move. Per Kubatko, the concussion is considered mild and Cowser could be back after the minimum seven days.

  • Orioles' Colton Cowser: Rare multi-hit game in win

Cowser went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Cubs.

Sunday marked just the fourth multi-hit game for Cowser across 27 games since the start of July. With Cedric Mullins now out of the fold, Cowser should see steady action in Baltimore's outfield the rest of the way despite his recent dry spell. Cowser is slashing only .209/.280/.308 with two home runs, three doubles, seven RBI and five stolen bases over his last 100 plate appearances.

  • Orioles' Colton Cowser: Continues to supply plenty of pop

Cowser went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 9-6 extra-inning win over Atlanta.

Cowser smashed homer No. 8 for the year and his seventh since the beginning of June. The 25-year-old outfielder has provided the Orioles with a boost since coming off the injured list back on June 3 -- he's slashing a productive .240/.291/.531 with seven round trippers, seven doubles, 16 RBI and one stolen base over his last 103 plate appearances. Cowser began the season as Baltimore's leadoff batter but has hit sixth or lower in the lineup in all but one of his last 27 games, although it's worth noting current No. 1 hitter Jackson Holliday is struggling with a .543 OPS across his last 21 outings.
