  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Puts on show in win

Tatis went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Mets.

Tatis was the star of Tuesday's game, posting his first multi-homer effort of the year while also robbing a grand slam in the field. It continued a second-half power binge for the 27-year-old, who's gone deep 10 times while posting a 1.016 OPS in 30 games since the All-Star break. On the season, he's slashing .280/.353/.432 with 15 home runs, 60 RBI, 71 runs scored and 28 steals across 551 plate appearances.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Mashes 13th homer Friday

Tatis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk Friday in a 7-5 win over Cleveland.

Tatis' lone hit was a 404-foot solo homer to left field in fifth inning. The star outfielder appears to have discovered his power stroke this month -- he's gone deep five times across nine games since Aug. 5 after posting just eight long balls through his first 112 contests this season. Tatis has lifted his OPS over 30 points to .778 with the power surge, and he's now at 13 total long balls to go along with 28 stolen bases.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Receiving off day for series finale

Tatis is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Padres manager Craig Stammen will give Tatis a break while San Diego wraps up its three-game set with Milwaukee with a day game after a night game. Austin Hays will get the nod in right field in place of Tatis, who had started each of the last nine contests while going 9-for-36 (.250 average) with four home runs, three doubles, three walks, 10 runs and six RBI.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Continues power surge Tuesday

Tatis went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a walk in an 11-2 win over Milwaukee on Tuesday.

Tatis' loudest contribution was a solo blast to right field in the fourth inning. It was his fourth homer over his past seven contests, and the veteran slugger appears to finally be getting his power stroke going. Tatis didn't homer at all until his 56th contest of the campaign and had gone 12 straight games without a long ball prior to the aforementioned current seven-game power surge. His muscle has helped San Diego bolt into playoff position -- the Padres have won 14 of their past 18 contests and are now tied for the final wild-card spot in the National League.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Big blast in win

Tatis went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and a double in Sunday's 7-2 win over the Astros.

Tatis is starting to find his power swing again with three homers over his last five games. This was his first blast in that span that wasn't a solo shot. Tatis is batting .283 with a .769 OPS, 11 homers, 54 RBI, 64 runs scored, 25 doubles, two triples and 26 stolen bases over 117 contests on the year.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Reaches double-digit homers

Tatis went 2-for-5 with a solo home run Friday in a loss to the Astros.

Tatis brought the Padres to within a run with his 400-foot blast to left field in the fifth inning. The long ball was his second over his past three games and his 10th of the campaign. That's far off the pace Tatis has established in previous seasons, though it should be remembered that he failed to hit a homer until his 56th contest this season. Since that initial home run, he's belted 10 long balls across 60 games, adding 34 RBI, 12 stolen bases and a .291/.355/.494 slash line.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Homers late in loss

Tatis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 10-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Tatis got the Padres on the board in the ninth inning, but the deficit was too much to overcome. The outfielder had slipped back into a power drought lately -- he went 12 contests without a homer prior to Wednesday, batting just .234 in that span. For the season, he's hitting .280 with a .751 OPS, nine homers, 50 RBI, 59 runs scored, 26 stolen bases, 23 doubles and two triples over 113 games.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Receiving rare day off

Tatis is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Gavin Sheets will pick up the start in right field in place of Tatis, who appears to be receiving a planned day off. Tatis had started every contest dating back to June 22, posting a .280/.364/.483 slash line with six home runs, eight steals, 24 runs and 23 RBI over that 35-game stretch.

Tatis has surged since the All-Star break, going 19-for-55 (.345) with seven extra-base hits, three steals and 14 RBI over his last 14 games. The outfielder's overall power numbers remain down compared to previous seasons, but he's made up for it by running at a career-high rate. He's now batting .286 with a .759 OPS, 26 steals on 37 attempts, eight home runs, 49 RBI, 56 runs scored, 22 doubles and two triples over 109 contests.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Five-hit effort in win

Tatis went 5-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 8-7 win over the Rockies.

Tatis made up for his weekend slump, in which he went 0-for-13 with four strikeouts against the Marlins. All five of his hits Tuesday were singles, but he was able to set the tone from the leadoff spot in his fourth multi-hit effort over his last 11 games. For the season, he's batting .285 with a .753 OPS, eight home runs, 49 RBI, 54 runs scored, 25 stolen bases, 20 doubles and two triples over 106 contests.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Swats homer, logs steal Saturday

Tatis went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two walks and a stolen base in Saturday's loss to Kansas City.

Not much went right for San Diego in the defeat, but Tatis at least prevented the team from being shut out with his third-inning solo homer. The speedy slugger added a theft of second base to round out a productive line. Tatis is up to 24 stolen bases on the campaign -- tied for fifth-most in the majors -- but Saturday's long ball was just his sixth this season. The lack of power has led to a .732 OPS, which is on pace to be the lowest mark of Tatis' career.

Tatis went 3-for-5 with an RBI single in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Royals in 10 innings.

On the campaign, Tatis is now slashing .281/.343/.377 with five homers, 36 RBI and 23 steals in 421 plate appearances.

Tatis has gone 9-for-32 (.281) with four steals and four doubles over eight games in July. Tatis is now 23-for-32 on the basepaths this season, and he's added a .284 average, .730 OPS, five home runs, 35 RBI, 44 runs scored, 19 doubles and one triple over 91 contests.

While the lack of power has been disappointing this season, Tatis continues trending in the right direction, raising his season line to .284/.345/.386 with five homers, 34 RBI, 41 runs and 21 stolen bases across 88 games.
