  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Finally goes deep in loss

Tatis went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 9-4 loss to the Nationals.

Tatis launched his first home run of the year 451 feet in the fifth inning. Per Todd Dybas of MLB.com, his 55-game drought to open the season was the second-longest ever by a player who had previously hit 40-plus homers in a season. Despite the lack of power, the 27-year-old has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games with three RBI, six runs scored and four stolen bases. On the year, he's slashing .271/.346/.324 with one long ball, 18 RBI, 21 runs scored and 14 steals across 241 plate appearances.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Reaches base four times Monday

Tatis went 2-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in Monday's loss against the Phillies.

Tatis followed up his three-hit performance Sunday by reaching base four times Monday, though both came in losing efforts. The 27-year-old is still searching for his first homer of the campaign, but he has swung the bat much better of late, going 10-for-24 (.417) across the past seven contests while reaching safely in nine consecutive games. His stolen-base total is now up to 13, tied for third-best in the National League.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Tallies three hits in loss

Tatis went 3-for-5 with a double in Sunday's loss to the Athletics.

Tatis logged a trio of hits, though he was thrown out attempting to stretch a single into a double in the third inning, while his fifth-inning double was squandered after Ty France was cut down at home plate, with both instances ending the inning. Nonetheless, it was a step in the right direction for Tatis, who has gone 9-for-27 (.333) with an RBI, four runs and three walks across the past seven contests. He's still searching for his first homer of the year, as the 27-year-old is slashing .247/.326/.289 with six doubles, a triple, 16 RBI, 19 runs and 12 stolen bases across 51 games.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Picks up steal Tuesday

Tatis went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Dodgers.

Tatis has gone 2-for-4 on steal attempts over the last four games. The 27-year-old picked up his first multi-hit effort over the last six contests. He's still struggling to hit for power -- he has no home runs this season and hasn't recorded an extra-base hit since his May 5 double versus the Giants. He's batting .237 with a .585 OPS, 12 steals on 18 attempts, 15 RBI and 17 runs scored across 47 contests.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Swipes 10th bag, remains homerless

Tatis went 0-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base in an extra-inning win over St. Louis on Sunday.

While Tatis wasn't able to log any hits, he made an impact by taking two walks and stealing a base. The theft was his 10th this season, ninth-most in MLB. Beyond that, however, Tatis has largely disappointed fantasy managers so far, primarily because he's yet to go deep through 39 games. That's contributed to Tatis logging just 15 RBI and 14 runs while posting a meager .611 OPS. On the bright side, Tatis has made nine appearances at second base, and he'll gain significant value as a fantasy asset when/if he becomes eligible at the keystone (depending on league settings).

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Receiving rare day off

Tatis is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Tatis will take a seat for just the second time all season, ending a streak of 14 consecutive starts. The three-time All-Star has made three of his last five starts at second base and has now occupied the keystone on six occasions this season, bringing him closer to gaining eligibility at that position in certain fantasy leagues.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: On base four times in loss

Tatis went 3-for-3 with a triple, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 8-2 loss to the White Sox.

Tatis logged a three-hit effort for just the second time this season. The triple was his first extra-base hit since he had a double in his other three-hit game April 11 versus the Rockies. The lack of power is a concern, but Tatis has racked up three steals over the last four games. For the season, he's batting. 270 with a .665 OPS, no home runs, 13 RBI, 12 runs scored, four doubles and nine steals across 31 games.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Plates two runs

Tatis went 1-for-2 with two RBI, a run scored and a walk in Thursday's win over the Mariners.

He plated two runs with a two-out single that scored both Luis Campusano and Jake Cronenworth as part of a four-run second inning for the Padres. Tatis has hit safely in seven of his last eighth starts, and the star outfielder has been the engine driving the Padres offense during that stretch. He's hitting .255 with a .642 OPS since the beginning of April, but during that eight-start stretch, he sports a .323 batting average with a .733 OPS.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Not in Wednesday's lineup

Tatis is not in the Padres' starting lineup against the Mariners on Wednesday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Tatis is getting a rest day Wednesday, as the Padres are rolling with Nick Castellanos, Jackson Merrill and Ramon Laureano in the outfield from right to left. Tatis has reached base safely in nine of his last 10 games, and over that span he has gone 11-for-41 (.268) with two steals, five runs scored and five RBI.
