Alonso went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-3 loss to the A's.
The slugging first baseman smashed a Jacob Lopez changeup the other way in the fourth inning to open the scoring. Alonso's blast extended his hitting streak to eight games, a stretch in which he's batting .333 (11-for-33) with four doubles, four homers, 10 RBI and 11 runs to account for half his long balls on the season.

Alonso made an immediate impact, launching his three-run shot in the first inning. The veteran first baseman now has seven homers on the year, and he also extended his hitting streak to seven games. Alonso belted just his third long ball of the season Wednesday. The All-Star first baseman has struggled to get it going at the plate to begin his Orioles career, but he's slowly beginning to pick things up recently. Over his last 49 plate appearances (11 games), Alonso is slashing .275/.408/.525 with two big flies, four doubles and seven RBI to increase his OPS for the campaign to .699.

Orioles' Pete Alonso: Searching for power stroke
Alonso went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, a walk and a run scored Sunday in the Orioles' 6-2 win over the Giants.
The All-Star first baseman got off to a fast start, going 6-for-19 with a home run in March, but he went into a brief tailspin at the plate earlier in April. Prior to Sunday, Alonso had gone 3-for-35 with two extra-base hits to begin the month but registered his third multi-hit game as well as a season-high two RBI versus San Francisco. Alonso entered Sunday with an elite 57.1 percent hard-hit rate, so the power numbers should pick up soon enough.

Orioles' Pete Alonso: Lacking in XBHs early on
Alonso went 1-for-4 with an RBI double Sunday in the Orioles' 8-2 loss to the PIrates.
After leaving the Mets over the winter and joining the Orioles on a five-year, $155 million deal, Alonso has gotten off to a slow start to his time in Baltimore. The veteran first baseman has struck out at a career-worst 33.3 percent clip through his first nine games, which has played a large part in limiting the career .253 hitter to a .229 batting average thus far. The low average would be more palatable if Alonso were hitting for power, but his double in Sunday's game was just his second extra-base hit of the campaign. Alonso's average exit velocity and hard-hit rate place him in the 93rd and 90th percentile, respectively, of all players in the early going, so fantasy managers should have some hope that the five-time All-Star eventually turns things around.
