Voit re-signed with the Rakuten Eagles on Monday, Yakyu Cosmopolitan reports.
Voit signed with the Eagles in June and went on to slash .300/.384/.498 with 13 home runs over 67 contests. The seven-year MLB veteran last appeared in the big leagues in May of 2023.

Luke Voit: Signs with Japanese team
Voit recently signed a contract with the Rakuten Eagles of Nippon Professional Baseball, Yakyu Cosmopolitan reports.
Voit will try his luck in Japan after playing in the Mexican League the last two seasons. The 34-year-old last appeared in the majors in 2023 with the Brewers.

Luke Voit: Released by Mets
Voit was released by the Mets on Tuesday, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.
It's not clear whether Voit exercised an opt-out or the team simply decided to cut him loose. Voit failed to make the Opening Day roster after managing just a .455 OPS in 14 Grapefruit League contests. He should be able to latch on with another organization but will probably have to spend time in the minors in the short term.

Mets' Luke Voit: Fails to make Opening Day roster
The Mets informed Voit on Saturday that he won't make the team's Opening Day roster, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Voit joined the Mets on a minor-league contract Feb. 19. He struggled in camp, striking out 12 times while slashing .100/.222/.200 with one home run and three RBI over 36 plate appearances.

Mets' Luke Voit: Back with Mets on NRI deal
Voit signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Monday that includes an invitation to spring training, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Voit finished the 2023 season with the Mets' Triple-A Syracuse affiliate, posting a 1.058 OPS with 14 home runs through 37 games. He's likely headed back to Syracuse to begin the 2024 campaign, providing a depth option at designated hitter if Mark Vientos flops or needs to play more third base. Voit had just a .549 OPS in 74 plate appearances for the Brewers last season.

Voit opted out of his minor-league contract with the Mets on Thursday, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.
Mayer adds that Voit has officially been released from Triple-A Syracuse, where he posted a shiny 1.058 OPS with 14 home runs and 35 RBI through 37 games. The 32-year-old slugger might already have an opportunity lined up elsewhere as heads back into free agency.

Voit was cut loose by the Brewers earlier this month after putting up a lowly .549 OPS through 74 plate appearances. He will report to Triple-A Syracuse for the time being but could get a look with the Mets before long as they deal with the loss of Pete Alonso (wrist).
