    Eades signed a minor-league contract with the Astros on Wednesday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports. Eades made his major-league debut with the Twins and Orioles in 2019 and posted a 2.38 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 11.1 innings across eight relief appearances. He didn't pitch in 2020 but will report to Triple-A Sugar Land now that the minor-league season has begun.

    Eades was claimed off waivers by the Orioles on Wednesday and optioned to Triple-A Norfolk. After pitching 3.2 scoreless frames for the Twins in mid-June, Eades finds himself in the Orioles organization. In 50.2 innings at the Triple-A level this season, the 27-year-old carries an ERA of 5.51 with a 63:16 K:BB. Right-handed pitcher Jimmy Yacabonis was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

    The Twins announced Thursday they signed second-round pick Ryan Eades, who was selected 43rd overall in June's draft. He will report to Rookie League Elizabethton. Eades received a $1.29 million signing bonus, according to Baseball America. Eades went 8-1 with a 2.79 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 17 starts in 2013 for LSU. He was 17-5 with a 3.57 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 52 career appearances (40 starts). He struck out 172 batters in 237 innings.
