Yankees' Max Fried: Ineffective in Game 2
Fried pitched three innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out one batter in Sunday's 13-7 loss to the Blue Jays in Game 2 of the ALDS.
Fried was able to toss a scoreless first inning before the wheels quickly fell off thereafter. The left-hander allowed two runs in the second and three in the third, and he was ultimately removed from the game after allowing the first two batters to reach in the bottom of the fourth. The outing matched Fried's shortest of the year, while the seven runs given up also matched a season high for the 29-year-old.

Yankees' Max Fried: Stuck with no-decision in Game 1
Fried pitched 6.1 shutout innings during Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox, giving up four hits and three walks while collecting six strikeouts. He did not factor into the decision.
The 31-year-old lefty pitched his way out of a couple of jams in the fourth and fifth innings to keep the Sox off the scoreboard through six. However, MLB's highest-scoring offense wasn't able to replicate its regular-season success against Garrett Crochet, forcing Fried to settle for a no-decision in his first postseason appearance as a Yankee after Luke Weaver gave up two runs following Fried's removal in the seventh. If New York can come back to take the series from Boston, Fried will presumably get the call to start against Toronto in Game 2 of the ALDS on Sunday.

Yankees' Max Fried: Clinches MLB-best 19th win
Fried (19-5) picked up the win Wednesday against the White Sox, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out seven over seven innings.
Coming off arguably his best start of the year, when he blanked Baltimore over seven innings while striking out 13, the left-hander produced another gem Wednesday. Fried gave up back-to-back singles followed by a sacrifice fly to Lenyn Sosa in the second inning, but he was nearly flawless otherwise, generating 12 whiffs and notching at least seven strikeouts for the 14th time this season. The victory was the 31-year-old's seventh in his last eight starts and his sixth straight, securing him the top of MLB's wins leaderboard with 19. Fried finishes his first regular season with the Yankees having posted a 2.86 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 189:51 K:BB across 195.1 innings, cementing himself as one of most consistent arms fantasy managers could find.

Yankees' Max Fried: Phenomenal showing in 18th win
Fried (18-5) picked up the win Thursday against the Orioles, allowing three hits and one walk in seven shutout innings. He struck out 13.
Fried had Baltimore out of sorts, tying a career high with 13 punchouts while inducing an incredible 28 whiffs. It was the second time this season that the All-Star southpaw racked up double-digit strikeouts, and he pitched at least seven innings for the fourth time in his last five outings. Through 188.1 innings this year, Fried boasts a 2.92 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 182:49 K:BB. His next appearance could be his final regular-season start, which is tentatively set to come against a White Sox club with a paltry .611 OPS versus left-handed pitching since the beginning of September.

Yankees' Max Fried: Collects MLB-leading 17th win
Fried (17-5) picked up the win Saturday, giving up two runs on nine hits and two walks over 5.1 innings in a 5-3 victory over the Red Sox. He struck out six.
In the process, the southpaw moved ahead of teammate Carlos Rodon, as well as Milwaukee's Freddy Peralta, for the major-league lead in wins. Fried has gotten the win in four straight starts and hasn't lost since Aug. 10, going 5-0 over his last six outings with a 3.38 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 34:12 K:BB in 37.1 innings over that stretch. He likely doesn't have enough time left in the schedule to get to 20 wins, but Fried will look to continue his undefeated streak on the road next week in Baltimore.
