Brewers' Christian Yelich: Nearing live ABs
Yelich (groin) is expected to progress to facing live pitching and running the bases early next week, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
The veteran slugger continues working his way back from a strained left groin, and he remains on track to return in mid-to-late May. Yelich was off to a strong start to the season prior to the injury with a homer, three steals, 10 RBI, 10 runs and a .314/.375/.451 slash line in 15 games.

Brewers' Christian Yelich: Takes batting practice on field
Yelich (groin) took batting practice on the field Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
It's the first time Yelich has taken batting practice on the field with the rest of his teammates since he went down with a left groin strain in mid-April. The Brewers laid out a 4-to-6 week timeline for Yelich's return when the injury occurred, and he looks to be trending toward being activated toward the front end of that timetable.

Brewers' Christian Yelich: Remains on track
Yelich (groin) is ramping up his hitting and running work and still has an estimated return of mid-to-late May, Sophia Minnaert of Brewers.tv reports.
Yelich landed on the shelf April 14 with a left groin strain and was given an initial recovery timeline of 4-to-6 weeks, and he has apparently progressed as expected thus far. Gary Sanchez has operated as Milwaukee's primary designated hitter with Yelich on the shelf, but Tyler Black has also picked up a couple starts since getting promoted from Triple-A Nashville on Friday.

Brewers' Christian Yelich: Placed on IL with groin strain
The Brewers placed Yelich on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left groin strain, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
The Brewers initially called Yelich's injury hamstring tightness when he was lifted from Sunday's game versus the Nationals. The designation has changed, but regardless, it's an injury that will keep Yelich out at least until late April and perhaps longer. While Yelich is sidelined, the Brewers could use Gary Sanchez often in the designated-hitter spot.

Yelich (groin) is expected to be sidelined until mid- to late-May, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Yelich landed on the 10-day injured list earlier Tuesday with a left adductor strain, and it appears he's looking at a 4-to-6 week absence. It's a significant loss for the Brewers and for fantasy managers that used a top-100 pick on Yelich this spring. Gary Sanchez is in line for the bulk of the reps at designated hitter for now while Yelich is out, though Andrew Vaughn (hand) and Jake Bauers could share first base and DH once Vaughn is healthy.

Yelich beat out a potential double-play grounder during the first inning and didn't get down the line all that well, resulting in him being lifted after he grounded out again in the third frame. The veteran slugger barely beat out a potential double-play grounder during the first inning and grounded out again in the third before being lifted. Yelich wasn't moving down the line very well, which could indicate he's dealing with a lower-body injury. Yelich went 2-for-5 with a double, a triple, an RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Royals.
The veteran slugger started the scoring Sunday with an RBI triple during the opening inning before coming around to score on Gary Sanchez's home run. Yelich then doubled and scored again in the ninth. He now has three two-hit performances in the past four contests, though Sunday's extra-base hits were his first since his three-run homer March 29 versus the White Sox. Through nine games this season Yelich is slashing .353/.389/.529 with a stolen base, eight RBI and nine runs scored.
