Top Cutter Dykstra News

  • Cutter Dykstra: Released Tuesday

Dykstra was released by the Nationals on Tuesday, Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports.

Dykstra was slashing a solid .297/.381/.365 in 37 games with Double-A Harrisburg before being released, but he'll now hit the open market. The 26-year-old has never advanced beyond the Triple-A level -- and has a career average of just .185 there -- so he likely won't make much, if any, of an impact at the major league level wherever he lands.

  • Nationals' Cutter Dykstra: Re-signs with Nationals on minor league deal

Dykstra signed a minor league contract with the Nationals on Thursday, Bill Ladson of MLB.com reports.

Dykstra has spent five seasons in the Nationals' organization and reached Triple-A Syracuse in 2015. He'll return to the organization on a minor league deal that did not include an invite to major league spring training.
