Canucks' Filip Chytil: Placed on injured reserve

Chytil (upper body) was placed on injured reserve by the Canucks on Friday.

The Canucks announced earlier Friday that Chytil would miss Saturday's game against the Maple Leafs after he aggravated an upper-body injury, and he's facing a multi-game absence after landing on injured reserve. Brendan Gallagher is a candidate to enter the lineup in Chytil's absence, while Jacob Quillan was recalled from AHL Abbotsford on Friday.

Canucks' Filip Chytil: Unavailable for Saturday

Chytil (upper body) is expected to miss Saturday's game against Toronto, per Jeff Paterson of CanucksArmy.com.

Chytil has two assists in seven outings with Vancouver in 2026-27. Brendan Gallagher is likely to draw into the lineup Saturday due to Chytil's injury.

  • Devils' Connor Hellebuyck: Tending twine against Vegas

Hellebuyck will start Friday's road game against Vegas, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Hellebuyck made his Devils debut Tuesday in Dallas and turned aside 17 of 18 shots en route to the 5-1 victory. After getting the night off in the second half of the back-to-back set Wednesday against Colorado, Hellebuyck will return to the crease Friday as the Devils close out their three-game road trip.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Slated starter for Saturday

Stolarz is expected to start on the road against Vancouver on Saturday, per Luke Fox of Sportsnet.

Stolarz has won his past two starts while stopping 66 of 70 shots (.943 save percentage). He has a 4-1-0 record, 2.79 GAA and .907 save percentage in five appearances in 2026-27. Vancouver is 3-11-1 while averaging 3.00 goals per game this season, so this is a favorable matchup for Stolarz.

  • Golden Knights' Cameron Whitehead: Sent back down

Whitehead was assigned to AHL Henderson on Friday.

Whitehead was called up by the Golden Knights on Tuesday, but he didn't appear in any games during his time with the NHL club. His demotion ahead of Friday's game against the Devils suggests that Carter Hart (undisclosed) will be able to at least suit up for the matchup.

  • Golden Knights' Jonas Rondbjerg: Recalled by Vegas

Rondbjerg was recalled from AHL Henderson on Friday.

Rondbjerg has been shuffled between the AHL and NHL recently, but he'll rejoin the Golden Knights ahead of Friday's matchup against the Devils. He hasn't yet appeared in a regular-season game for Vegas this year, but he recorded an assist and six shots on goal while averaging 12:05 of ice time across four regular-season appearances with the Golden Knights last season.

  • Nikita Klepov RW | ANA

Ducks' Nikita Klepov: Returns to OHL

Klepov was reassigned to OHL Saginaw on Friday.

Klepov made the Ducks' roster out of training camp, but he ended up logging time in just four outings, recording no points, six PIM and six hits in that span. He was also a healthy scratch in nine games during his stint with Anaheim. The 18-year-old should play a big role with Saginaw after scoring 37 goals and 97 points in 67 regular-season appearances with the OHL squad in 2025-26.

  • Filip Chytil C | VAN

Canucks' Filip Chytil: Not practicing Friday

Chytil didn't participate in Friday's practice session due to an upper-body injury, Jeff Paterson of CanucksArmy.com reports.

Chytil is being evaluated after the team said that he aggravated an upper-body injury that forced him to miss the first eight games of the regular season. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available for Saturday's game against the Maple Leafs, but Brendan Gallagher will be a candidate to enter the lineup if Chytil is sidelined.

  • Josh Manson D | COL

Avalanche's Josh Manson: Expected to miss eight weeks

Manson (ankle) is expected to miss the next eight weeks, Corey Masisak of The Denver Post reports Friday.

Manson has a goal, four points, two PIM, 28 hits and 17 blocks in 13 appearances with Colorado in 2026-27. He's been serving primarily in a third-pairing role. Noah Juulsen might play regularly during Manson's absence.

  • Oilers' Tristan Jarry: Expected starter for Saturday

Jarry is coming off a 24-save shutout victory over Calgary on Wednesday. He has a 3-1-2 record, 2.95 GAA and .882 save percentage in six appearances with Edmonton in 2026-27. The Islanders are 4-1-1 while averaging 3.17 goals per game across their past six games.
